Chapter 1

*Marie's POV

"Are you guys working today?" I texted to Sophia and Nicole.

I can not stand being at this house alone when all I can hear is my neighbors screaming. I have tried telling my parents that they should do something about it, but they just say, "Oh sweetie, it's not our business to go in there and tell them what to do."

I just want to be able to sit at home and watch Netflix, but no I have to deal with the spine tingling screams that always seem to come from my neighbor's house when my parents aren't home.

I was sitting there trying to find something to watch on Netflix, since I had finished every season of American Horror Story, when I felt my phone vibrate under me.

"No, I don't have to work until Tuesday. Why?" Nicole asked me.

"Can you come get me please? You know how I feel about being home alone when the neighbors start screaming," I begged her.

"They still do that weird shit? Marie you should really just call the cops, because this is getting really freaky," Nicole told me.

"Do you know how much trouble I would get in if my dad found out that his police station got a call from me like that? He would kill me!" I told her freaking out.

"Wait, what is happening? I feel like I've missed everything," Sophia said when she finally decided to join our group chat.

"Marie's freaky neighbors are screaming again," Nicole told her.

"Again! I remember when we were sitting downstairs when your parents went to you grandparents' house and they started screaming," Sophia said.

"I'm on my way to get you Marie. I'll be there in like 15 minutes. Sophia you want to come over to my house too?" Nicole said.

"Thank you so much!" I told her.

"Yeah. I will head over to your house in like half an hour Nicole," Sophia said.

"Alright well, I love you guys, and if I don't answer its because I got the balls to go tell the neighbors to be quite but it backfired and they kidnapped me," I jokingly told them.

I put my phone down and went to pack a bag for Nicole's house. I am so glad Nicole is coming to get me, because I've been scared to be home alone ever since one of dad's criminals broke in and tired to kidnap me for revenge .

I got to my closet to grab some t-shirts off of the hanger when I hear a loud shatter come from next door. I walk out of my closest and look out of my window to see a blonde haired boy sitting on his bed facing the wall. He was just sitting there his chest moving up and down heavily, while he was tugged at the roots of his hair. All of the sudden, he gets up and starts throwing things across his room while screaming in frustration.

I flinched when he turned around and looked me straight in the eyes. I stood there frozen in fear, but then he did something you wouldn't expect since he was just throwing things and screaming. He smiled and waved at me.

I smiled weakly and waved to him, before turning away quickly to prevent any awkward situations from happening. As I was walking back to my closet, my mind started wandering. I didn't think that my neighbor would look like that, let alone act like that. There was something so weird about how he didn't even acknowledge the fact that I had just seem him throwing things across his room. I shook my head and tried to focus on packing, because I knew Nicole would be here soon and I didn't want to make her wait on me.

I grabbed a small duffle bag and packed a couple of outfits in case I decided to stay for a couple of nights. I packed a couple of t-shirt and 2 pairs of jeans, since we wouldn't be going out anywhere important. I then moved on and grabbed some shorts and tank tops to sleep in, because it was summer and like a thousand degrees outside.

I was putting my toothbrush in my bag when I heard Tomorrow Never Dies by 5SOS blaring from my phone. I rushed out of the bathroom and looked at my phone to see that Nicole was calling me.

"Hey! Are you almost here? I asked her.

"Well, actually I'm right behind you," she told me.

"What do you mean right.. OH MY FUCK!" I screamed when I felt someone grab the sides of my waist.

I turned around and saw Nicole hunched over laughing so hard that her face was beet red.

"Oh my gosh! You should've seen your face Marie!" she laughed at me.

"Nicole that is not funny! You know how much it scares me when you guys do that shit!" I screamed at her and turned away with my arms crossed.

"Oh stop being a baby and lets get out of here, so we can go eat our body weight in pizza," she told me.

"Fine. But only because there's going to be pizza," I told her but then started laughing when she rolled her eyes at me.

"Come on you fucking loser," she laughed at me.

I rolled my eyes at her, but grabbed my bag anyway. I really wanted some fucking pizza!

When we made it outside, I turned around to lock the door to my house when the neighbors started screaming again.

"Shit. Okay lets go. I can't deal with this craziness for another second," I told Nicole.

We quickly made our way to her car and hopped in just as that blonde boy made his way out of the house. He stalked out of the house and walked to the black toyota camry in the drive way. As he turned to unlock the car he saw me watching him. The boy smiled and waved again as me and Nicole drove off towards her house.

"What was all of that about and who is he?" Nicole asked me.

"I have no idea," I told her," but I kind of want to find out."
