Neil entered the palace with cold feet , not terribly excited about his uninvited new job. He didn't see his life turn out this way, although the pay was surprisingly high. His eyes fell out of their sockets upon reading his job contract but he kept mum. Who was he to refuse a rich spoilt prince that either loved throwing money away or had no concept of it.
Security , it seemed ,was not something that was taken lightly in the palace. There were guards strolling about everywhere, a permanent scowl drawn on their faces. It almost made Neil chuckle, it looked hilarious , but he decided against it, he didn't want the guards that were escorting him, "big nose" and "ugliano" to play dodge-ball with him. He liked his limbs far too much. The whole palace reminded Neil of a giant anthill. For one, there were the warrior ants strutting about proudly, the humble worker ants scurrying about and the queen in the middle of it all laying eggs, well, king here and he didn't even lay eggs.
Big nose and Ugliano took him to what he assumed was an office of sorts. Damien was , of course there, but he was accompanied by a lady that really did remind him of Voldemort. She wasn't ugly in any way and she did have a nose , she just looked like the kind of person that would drown a pretty cat and then dangle it's carcass in front of your face , someone you'd consider first for a psychotic villain's role. He made a mental note never to let that one anywhere near his dog.
Nerezza gave the boy a once over. Had Damien not told her that he was Belladur's son she wouldn't believe it. He looked pretty. She wouldn't put Belladur and pretty in the same sentence. She chuckled slightly at the indignant look on his face when told that she would be accompanying him from now on. He wasn't scared yet. This could actually be fun.
Neil followed Nerezza to the library, slightly miffed. He couldn't help but feel like a petulant child who was being punished and the fact that he was being 'babysit' didn't help sweeten his sour mood. It was like adding insult to injury, the sickly sweet smile on her face. The library did take his breath away though,it was simply beautiful . He had never seen so many books in his entire lifetime. He ignored the lady and quickly ran to the shelves browsing through the books, nothing could keep him from these babies. He saw, sitting high on the shelves, literally every book he could think of and many more that he had never heard of.
There was one shelf though whose books he couldn't see. He pressed his face to the fogged glass wondering why these babies were sitting behind a fogged glass, shunned. He could make out titles like 'fey, kingdoms and allegiances' and ' Must known spells for classic pranks'. He remembered Damien something about feys a while ago. He looked at Nerezza expectantly ,waiting for her to produce a set of keys or something.
"I'm afraid one can't open that shelf manually , little one". Neil pulled his best puppy dog face and asked Nerezza for the password. Not to sound conceited but he was pretty sure even Satan would coo at that face. Nerezza apparently was worse than Satan, she just laughed outright at his face ,not even trying to hide her amusement, in fact she found it quite hard to stop laughing, especially when his face took the shade of an apple upon seeing her laugh . " Now, cutee, I want to open that for you , I really do, but the remote's gone....it's gone missing you see". Nerezza found it extremely amusing when the boy's face fell. There was no remote , just a simple spell, but that wasn't something she was going to tell him anytime soon. She had agreed not to kill the boy but that didn't mean she couldn't enjoy herself even a little bit.
Apart from the itch of a few books being out of his reach , the day had gone relatively good for Neil. Sure Voldemort was giving him creepy grins and making him feel like an awkward kid but that wasn't really bad. He would never admit it loud to Damien though. He briefly wondered if there was something on his face, she hadn't quite stopped staring at him. Neil finally decided that it was quite harmless, the woman probably liked making people squirm.
Nerezza surprisingly wasn't quite so bored herself. The kid was not short of snappy comments and he really couldn't quite keep his eyes off the bookshelf he didn't have access to , the forbidden shelf. It wasn't forbidden per say but the words "forbidden shelf" did have a nice ring to it. She chuckled, humans did always have a fascination with all things forbidden...the forbidden fruit eaten, the forbidden temple broached ,the forbidden stone searched for, they were a species that never learnt from their past mistakes. Of course so were feys and any other creature that could think. She didn't see any harm in it though, it was curiosity that defined thought, greed that drove ambition, it wasn't curiosity that killed the cat, it was incompetence ,perhaps stupidity too, but not curiosity. That one phrase had always irked her , it was a phrase used by cowards, people who didn't have the guts to take risks, people who didn't feel the need to grow. It was a good thing that the boy was curious .Perhaps she could even teach him a good thing or two. She had never actually felt the need to teach someone , she wasn't exactly mortal so it wasn't like she had to pass on knowledge or something, but this could be a fun project. Perhaps they could kill together, she doubted that though, he didn't look like someone who would enjoy that. She was sure of two things though....she was curious for one and the boy would be her apprentice after his change for another .But the one thing that she was quite sure of was that she was going to have fun.( cue evil laugh)

hello feykin (if anybody's reading this)
My pet bird Candy is like Nerezza......eeeevil, but nice too. She loves tormenting my dog and stealing his food and then sits on my dog like she owns him...her curiosity did almost get her killed today though, she went real close to a cat . She probably figured it wouldn't eat her because my dog doesn't hurt her. She was lucky my dog was around. She even almost looks as ugly as Voldemort to boot....but I love her to bits ...I love my dog a little more but don't tell her that...
*sighs*
My dog is a saint....
Um...bye!!!
