Sad On Christmas

Mikasa awoke to her alarm clock that soon started playing upbeat Christmas songs. Too upbeat for 9 in the morning.
She groaned as she reached to hit the snooze button. The girl stretched and stood up quickly when she realized the date.

December 24th.

'Already?' She thought, looking at her phone screen. Mikasa let escape a long sigh.

She reached her closet and decided to wear simply a simple dark burgundy sweater with her all black shirt and pants over the ugly Christmas sweater hiding in the back of her closet.

The dark haired beauty made her coffee in silence. She ignored the little greetings people had sent her via text message and refused to turn on the radio or television.

As she sipped her coffee alone in the kitchen she couldn't help but look out the window. She was surprised to see her front neighbours, Ymir and Krista, decorating their cute little house with lights and giant candy canes. Ymir was placing them all as Krista seemed to be yelling orders, announcing how her winter wonderland was going to be perfect.

Mikasa rolled her eyes and continued to sip her coffee.

"Here's to another Christmas by myself." She whispered to herself.

Soon enough, she heard the doorbell ring. Through the peephole she saw the couple she had just been looking at moments ago.

"Mikasa!" The short one immediately sang when the door open.
"Yo." The tall tanned girl greeted simply.
"Hi," Mikasa started. "Anything I can help you with?"

Krista gave her a neat red envelope with her name written nicely in calligraphy.

"We're having a Christmas party tonight and you're always alone so we'd thought we'd invite you. Everyone's going to be there. " The blonde explained. "It starts at 6."
"Oh." Mikasa's eyes widened looking at the package. "I can't go."

She gave the envelope back to the short girl. Her face broke. The tall one seem to notice this and gave Mikasa a hateful glare.

"W-why?" Krista asked, clenching the envelope in her small pale hands.
"I have work to do." Mikasa lied.
"Bullshit." Ymir spat.

Mikasa inhaled sharply and glared at the freckled girl.

"Thank you for the invitation but the answer is no."
"But why?" Krista whined again.

Mikasa sighed, they wouldn't budge.

"I'm not a holiday person. I wouldn't be any fun anyways, thank you again Krista-"Mikasa was closing the door when Krista stopped it with her boot.

"That's ridiculous! No one should be alone during the holidays." Krista said through the crack. "Just say you'll think about it."

Mikasa groaned.

"Fine. I'll think about it."

Krista squealed with glee while removing her foot and Ymir chuckled in victory.

"Here you go." Krista slid the card under the door. "See you later!"

And with that, the couple left Mikasa alone. The girl grumbled as she picked up the invitation. She opened the red envelope, to find a Christmas tree shaped card. The back said;
