We walk into the village and we find skeletons at corners of the roads and against walls, some look as if they bracing themselves and some look as if they died screaming. I hear a crackle beneath my foot and I look down to see skull I feel my heart raise and jump over the skeleton. I hear a noise from Travis something that sounds like a gasp but as if the end of the gasp made it out. "Doesn't this frighten you?" I hear the shaking in his voice.
"Nothing frightens me anymore." I see a distorted sign. I approach it and it seems to have a 'f' in the front in which I remember that Travis must be beyond starved. I can live up to a month without food,if I eat enough in one go which I usually do now. I push the creaky door open with my head it took quite a bit of force. I smell meat almost immediately combined with a tinge of death. I hear breathing and before I acknowledge it a spear darts toward me but to my right I stand on my hind legs and catch it. I hear a scream and I see a head pop up behind a desk. It's a young man but is not human by his scent. As I hear his growling I knew immediately he was a werewolf a derogative, primate or an evolved descendant of my kind.
"Spear isn't the ideal weapon of your kind." I say changing to polar bear coat version of my normal self. Travis nervously comes in the room but remains behind me. I hear a woman's voice,
"Being alive isn't ideal for your kind." Her head peaks behind the same desk. She has golden eyes usually a trait of my kind and werewolves. She also looks about the same age. A deep voice (werewolf male trait) exclaims,
"Our entire village assumed you went extinct thousands of years ago."
"According to me it was 6 years ago."
Travis speaks in which sounds like his last breath.
"My village, week ago." I got straight to my question.
"Was your village also raided by shadows and a dark witch."
They simultaneously answer,"Yes."
They both shift their eyes to Travis.
The young man asks, "Is your friend alright?"I glance at him shivering and shaking remembering back when I used to actually cry and felt sympathy, when I once saw a suffering baby rynix (part of Phoenix family but are more passive and have the ability to blossom plants) it was weak skinny and looked almost dead I had nothing to give it and I turned and ran, I couldn't stand being near it.
"Actually no." I finally say me and Travis's eyes lock and I look back at the man.
"Then come in sit down we'll have a barbecue to replenish you two." I accept the offer and he turns to his wife which gets up from behind the desk. Immediately I hear patters of paws then I see dozens of puppies. Some change to toddlers and stare at me in awe,one cries.
"Are these your children?" Travis asks.
"Yes." The young lady says as a smile grows on her face.
