"I'm telling you, it's gonna be great!" Paige insisted over the phone.

"I don't know. It's a long time..."

"A long time my ass! Answer honestly; do you have anything better to do than spend the next three months with your bestie?" Well, the way she put it, it sounded nice.

"Babe, we've had our sleepovers, we've spent weeks in eachother's house, but never months. As much as you want me there, you're a family. I can't just come and make myself comfortable like it's no big deal!" I expressed my point of view. I really didn't want to cause / be trouble.

"You're part of the family too, silly. And you know you're always welcome. Pretty please?"

I thought about it for a while. I really didn't want to spend my whole summer in Arizona with my grandparents. No offense, I love them -more like adodre them- both, but a whole summer is just too much! I know that I can count on Paige's family like I can on my own one, and I also know that they love me like their child but, three months? Then again, there isn't a single day that I'm not in their house or Paige in mine so, will it make any difference?

"Alright..." I said, my voice barely audible.

"Sorry, I didn't catch that. A bit louder please." I could actually hear her smirking.

"I SAID ALRIGHT" I yelled. Not to be a pain in the ass of course, but to make sure she heard it this time. I'm such a good friend!

"Ladies and gentlemen, SHE SAID YES!" She exclaimed happily. "Have a good night's sleep because that will be your last one bae! We'll talk again tomorrow, I really have to check on that guy on the opposite balcony."

"What guy?" I questionned. When did she get new, hot neighbours?

"Oh, it's just a carpenter that the Wilkins have hired. The assistant, actually. But conveniently enough he works shirtless!" she stressed the last word, amusement clear in her voice.

"Lucky you!" I chuckled. "Alright, I'll let you continue with your sightseeing. Talk tomorrow hun, goodnight!"

"Goodnight. Love you!"

"Love you too!"

And with that, we hung up. My mum entered the room just in time to ask me about my decision. She agreed that the Jordans would be better than moving to Arizona simply because I couldn't have grandma or grandpa carry my drunk ass out of a club at 4 am. Though, we both doubted that I would live my life if I spent the summer in Arizona.

I looked out of the window. The sun was setting, creating a beautiful atmosphere. I sat up from my bed and went to the balcony. I gazed at the distance, wondering how things will go this summer. I mean, I have spent days without my parents, but this is a whole season we're talking about. However, something told me that I would have the summer of my life. This feeling was growing more and more intense within the minutes, and the anticipation kept building slowly, steadily and painfully inside of me. I snapped out of my thoughts because I had started to feel anxious about it. I went inside and open my wardrobe. I grabbed a pair of high-waist jean shorts, a white crop top and a pastel-pink jacket. I put them on my desk and went on to pack my stuff. Three sacks, one suitcase and a backpack later, everything was ready! I lay on my bed exhausted and drifted off to sleep.

"Morning sunshine!" My dad's velvet voice echoed in my ears

I mumbled and waved my hand goodbye, but he had other plans.

"Nuh-uh! Get up and come downstairs to have breakfast with us. It's going to be a long time not seeing each other. Do you really want to waste those few hours just so you can sleep?"
