“What’s up with you and Niall?” I investigated my cousin who was staring in front of her vanity mirror, smiling.

“What do you mean?” She innocently asked, more of convincing me that there’s absolutely nothing going on in between the two of them.

“You know what I mean. You two act like a couple. Are you guys even dating? Since when?”

“Here comes detective Chloe at it again….” She sighed, but her current aura was still happy, despite being asked. Megan loves the attention, unlike me. She loves being questioned especially involving her love life. “No, we’re not a couple. It’s still too early for that. Plus he’s Niall, I’m just Megan.”

“Just Megan… right. Have you seen him look at you? He treats you like a talking macaroni or something.”

“What does that even mean?” Megan glared through the mirror and suddenly found it offensive, sort of.

“It means… he has an interest on you the same way that boy loves food.” I retorted, resulting to having Megan in a dreamy state. I think we all know the answer to that. She feels the same way.

“Let’s just say, our common thing has to do with food.” Megan winked.

“And you both are loud and crazy, yep, definitely a good couple!” I teased, smirking at her.

Turning her seat around, she glanced up at me while I was on the bed, in front of my laptop, checking my emails. “What about you?”

“What about me?”

“What were you talking with Lexi about when we found you at the rocky part of the campus?” She grinned, waiting for my response. Perhaps she had some inkling that it would concern Zayn, or anything juicy.

“Nothing. It was really awkward though.” I admitted. Usually, I’d go for twenty questions when meeting someone new, and not giving in and tell what was bothering me, it’s none of their business. I’m sure they’d love to help out someone in need, but if I didn’t want to talk about it, I can’t be forced. And by the way she was talking to me that afternoon, sounded like she was milking some information.

“How? Enlighten me.”

“She thinks I left the diner because of something she said. Well, it wasn’t directly. I just remembered Cody and lost my appetite.” I confessed. There wasn’t a point in lying to Megan, she knows me inside and out and if there’s anyone who I would talk with, it would be her.

“Then she told me she saw me with Kyle talking, and saw how I abruptly left him. She also asked me if I was okay, and what was bothering me.”

“You didn’t, right?” She asked. She knew the answer, but I guess she wanted to hear it straight from me.

I shook my head. “I couldn’t tell her. I can’t even tell Kyle without getting depressed or anything. Then she asked me if she opened up to me first, would I open to her as well?”

“Something’s fishy.” Megan furrowed her eyebrows, thinking hard what was wrong with the conversation.

“I know right. Actually, I think it was because right before you guys showed up she asked me something, which I wasn’t able to answer to.”

“And….” More like, what was it?

“She asked if Zayn ever told me that he has a girlfriend the first time we met.” Megan gasped, as if she solved another puzzle.

First time meeting Zayn he didn’t mention about having a girlfriend. He just did the second time when we were at the London airport.

“That’s it!” Megan screamed.
