We all gathered outside as the young man went to get furniture and firewood with a few of the excitable puppies following him.

The lady suddenly raised her hand as if she just caught an idea and walks inside the small village house.

I think of apologizing to Travis for not giving him food but I decided not to.

I'm not going to pity a human.

The lady comes back with a thick leather coat and long thick top with pants that were blue but not completely. "I'm sorry about the jeans this is the only ones we have for you that looked about your size."

Travis takes the clothes and walks inside to change.

He comes back outside changed,"The top is small and the jacket is a quite big but I'm ok with it."

The young man is now cooking.

While the young lady is almost finished feeding the puppies/toddlers raw mushed meat.

I break out of my deep chain of thought as Travis sits down."How did you two survive?" I finally ask.

The young lady lifts her head after dusting off her hands of remains of the tiny meat chunks which she was feeding the toddlers with."We hid. Behind the counter there's a little cupboard we ran into as wolves." She looked dazed going back to the memory."We hid there till the following morning when we couldn't hear a sound."

The husband smiled and turned to say."In the closet I told you...I told you...I... I loved you, because I thought we were going to face inevitable death."

That word, 'love' makes me uncomfortable hearing it. I haven't heard it since I was back in my village and don't wish to hear it again.

The wife grows a smile with her dazed face and said, "I loved you too but I couldn't say it I was too scared with everything going on. So I told you when we got out and I kissed you."

Kiss, another word I despise for the same reason. I tried to calm myself and asked,"How long ago was this?"

"I think it happened 4 years ago."

"They're ready" the man states.

I grab 3 steaks and eat aggressively  like I usually do because with them being werewolves they won't find it rude or odd.

Travis leans over slowly to me looking as if he doesn't want to be noticed and whispers,"Do you know where the cutlery is,or at least serviettes?"

"These are werewolves you're considered lucky you have plates and a table."

I'm full as I finish 4 steaks and Travis is full from hardly one. "I guess we have to get going. I shall take some steaks and ribs for the journey."

"It's alright there are plenty of prey out here." The woman replies. I take the rest on the center plate which is about 3 steaks and 4 ribs and lace it in my bag.

We go to the slow pace river and get on the non-rock I left on the side. As we float down stream I dust off the snow on me and feel the tranquility of the sounds of the flowing water drift me off to sleep.
