"Shhhh, don't cry Hadley, you're home." Destiny said as she wiped the tears from my face. For a moment she just held me. It was strange to feel so safe in the arms of someone you've never actually met.  She fixed me some kind of tea to calm me down, and began asking a few questions. She didn't want to overwhelm me.

"When did the visions start?"

"About 3 months ago. Right before my mother died."

"I'm sorry, I didn't know. Tell me everything."

I told her I was from Alfred, Maine. I'm 23 years old and I had no family left. Growing up, it was just me and my mother. She was my world. Two months ago, she passed away from cancer. We didn't have a lot of money, but enough for me to gather my things and head to Hemlock Grove. I was too afraid to share my visions with my mom because of the stress she was under. But she always told me I was destined for great things. I told Destiny about my visions.

About three months ago I awoke from a nightmare. I was some kind of creature from the golden age being hunted by another. Running for my life through heavy forest. I watched weird movies, I assumed it was from a memory of one. When I woke up everything felt too real. Days later, I had the same dream but I didn't wake up at the same point. Going through the dream like a film, i watched as my I could feel my flesh being torn apart, then my body going limp. This time when I woke up, I found mud all over my hands and feet. Through many visions in that time, I discovered what Destiny looked like, and vaguely who she was, minus her name. I learned of Peter, but never saw him in human form. In my visions, I've seen creatures I never knew could exist.

The visions did not always happen when I was asleep either. One time while at the hospital with my mother, I started having fits, seeing strange people with their mouths open wider than possible with blood everywhere. It wasn't until the night before my mothers passing that I had the most intense vision.

I was taking a walk to calm my nerves about my mom, I knew the time was coming soon. Through the trees I could see a beautiful black wolf running. I recognized the wolf from my visions, and I began to panic, not knowing what to do. I watched as it ran right past me, trailing behind it a young man. I watched in terror as the man lunged onto the wolf, sinking his teeth into it. For a moment it was a mess of fur and man fighting to the death. I heard a loud whimper and then silence. In shock, I just stood there. The man didn't see me, he wiped the blood from his chin and walked away like nothing happened. Once he was out of my sight, I ran to the wolf, to find him. I awoke from the vision lying in the woods with no memory of the dead body, it took me a while to collect my thoughts and realize it wasn't real.

By the end of the night I had to say good bye to my best friend. After the funeral, I threw myself into Hemlock Grove as the biggest distraction I could handle. I used my inheritance to fix up my moms truck and plan for my long trip. For three weeks I spent all my time researching creatures, Hemlock Grove and anything that made sense in my visions. By the end of the month I packed up the truck with everything I owned. It wasn't much, but it was mine.

"How did you find me?"

I had just finished telling Destiny all about my horrific day when we were interrupted. Destiny's front door swung open, "Holy Shit Des, lemme tell you about my day!" As I looked up I saw the young guy from the mechanics place. He threw his coat on the couch, and turn to see me. I was shocked and he just blurted "Fuck."

"Destiny do you know this dick?!" All the rage I had earlier was rushing back.

"Hadley, you don't know? This is Peter." I just about fainted. My fight or flight response kicked in as I booked it for the first door that was in sight. I found myself in Destiny's bedroom and locked the door.

"Peter, what the fuck did you do?" I could hear Destiny ripping a strip off of him. I was crying my eyes out on the floor. That couldn't be him. He was a constant in my visions. My overwhelming need was for that?! I could hear them yelling back and forth then nothing at all. After a long pause I heard the front door slam, followed by a little knock on the bedroom door.

"Hey sweetie, how are you doing?" I didn't reply. "That's not how I wanted you two to meet. I am so sorry, I wish I had of known. Our visions can only take us so far."

I creaked the door open just a crack. I whispered "This isn't what I wanted." She explained to me that nothing is as it seems and to give him a chance.

"It'll all be fine. He loves pumpkin pancakes, he whimpers in his sleep like a dog and he's a mama's boy." I asked her why any of that mattered, it's not like I planned to get to know him. My overwhelming need to protect him had deflated when I heard his name. I was now here to prevent what I had seen in my visions and that was all. I didn't want to seem harsh, but I just wanted the visions to stop.

"Oh.. Ah yeah.. Never mind." She replied. I felt like she was hiding something from me, she had seen something in her visions that I clearly didn't. I exited her bedroom to clean myself up, I asked Destiny if I could use her shower. "Of course. You're welcome to stay as long as you need to. I'm going to order some pizza, how does that sound?" Destiny spoke through the bathroom door. "That sounds perfect, thank you. And like a lot of pizza and a lot of cheese." We both laughed.

When I was all cleaned up and dressed I made my way across the living room to find Destiny and Peter sitting at the island in the kitchen. I had that feeling rush over me again and blushed at its perplexity. What was this feeling?

Destiny cleared her throat, "I'm going to pick up the pizza. There are somethings you two need to discuss." She grabbed her coat and made a run for the door, "Play nice!" She smiled at both of us, and then she was gone. The second the door clicked, Peter had me pinned between him and the floor. "What the fuck is your problem!?!" I screamed at him as I punched at his sides.  He pinned my hands down and starting sniffing me. "What the fuck are you?" He growled. I started to get scared. "I don't know what you mean!" I yelled. I could see Peter's sharp blue eyes beginning to turn yellow. He bared his teeth and I could see them beginning to grow. "Yes you do! I can fucking smell it. I can feel it in my balls! What the fuck are you!" My body went limp as I stopped fighting back and burst into tears again.
