The Storm

1. The late beginings

I sniff around the London woods , when it hit me. Fresh caribou. The scent was so strong. I had to have it. I burst out running towards it, then suddenly, there is was. Fresh weak and delicious caribou right in front of me and my snout. I leaped for the kill, tackling it in one bite.

Finally when my meal had finished, I ran back home. I got roughly 200 meters before morphing back into my human form. My clothes were drenched in blood from my kill. Carefully, I made sure no one was in sight of me and my bloody rags, I bolt back home. Home in the knick of time, I shower all before my family got home.

Dressed, showered, and looking non- blood drenched, I look out the window to see them pull into the driveway. I watch as my big brother Zack, my big sister Ameila and my parents step out of the car and go over to talk to the neighbours.

Realizing I was on supper duty, I jump to the fridge and pull out the pre-marinated steak, some potatoes and 5 cobs of corn. Quickly, I turn on the stove with a frying pan and pot. I leave those to heat up while I wash dice and season the potatoes. Tossing those in the oven on a pan, I drop the corn in the boiling hot water to cook. With the frying pan hot, I quickly get the steaks on.

At last they finally walk in. Of course Zack yells the usual "what for dinner Rose?" "Steak" I call back. With everything ready, I serve everyone with myself being last.
Amelia finished up the dishes while I look out my bed room window wondering, how did an American girl like me end up here in London.

With school this morning, I hop out of bed at 6:30 a.m. sharp and get ready. Being dressed and ready, I creep downstairs and find a piece of bread and put it in the toaster. Meanwhile, I put on the radio and turn it on loud enough for just me to hear.Once the toast popped up, I take it out and butter it.

After eating it, Ameila sneaks down the stairs and made toast a swell. Zack lumbered down the stairs after her. Instead of grabbing bread he picks up an apple. 7:30 finally hit and we stand waiting for the bus to arrive. We all go to the same school but I'm in 9th grade while Zack and Ameila in 10th. Surprisingly, it was a warm first day of school.

Schedule in hand, I follow my best friend Violet to science. After finishing science, math, phys Ed, and ELA, it was time for lunch. Violet, Alexis, Maddilyn and I find each other and compare schedules.

Devouring my slice of pizza, I notice that Violet and I have science and math together, Alexis and I have ELA and French together, and Maddilyn and I have art and chemistry together. The bell rings and off to French I go. Just 2 more classes till I am home free.

Classes slip by quickly and it is the end of the first day of school. I realize that it's Friday. It's now the weekend? Wait, it's the weekend!! I exclaim with glee to myself.

Zack and Ameila met me at the house, I told them I going out in the full moon tonight. They allowed me but Zack wants me to be extra careful. He luckily had already met my pack.

Violet and Alexis are my pack. Maddilyn sadly isn't a werewolf like us but we are still best friends. " We are going out tomorrow so don't make plans, got it?" Announced Zack.

Moon arisen and my pack and I set out for a fresh hunt together. We set ourselves into the middle of the woods for some bears. " They are extremely fisty today!" Says excited Alexis. " They may be fisty Bears, but they sure are weak!" Explains Violet. " Maybe it's their mating season." Says Alexis. " It easily could be. They weren't mating last moon, but this is too late for them to be mating. It's almost the harvest moon, they get ready to hibernate these days. I explain. "Your right, it's like everything is deylayed. It's October 5th. It's exactly 1 month behind. Exactly 1 month. Violet explains. " There is something odd going on around here. Says questioned Alexis. " There may be something odd around here but I want to find out what." I say confidently.
