It was SO awkward.
The way she cried by herself in the empty music room made me feel so uncomfortable that I even considered leaving. It never occurred to me that the rebel, stubborn, ignorant, and the school's skater girl, Danielle Day would show vulnerableness... Or rather, lock herself up in a forgotten music room (which isn't locked at all) and cry her eyes out.
Danielle probably felt my presence because when she turned and saw me standing there by the door way, she narrowed her eyes and jumped up while desperately trying to wipe her tears off. Then, she did what I expected her to do.
"Get the hell out!" She yelled angrily. I smirked at my prediction.
But I didn't do what she told me to do. I wasn't planning to do so. Besides, I'm only minding my business, so I'm sure she'll understand that I won't bother her. Entering the room, I simply took one of the dark blue plastic chairs and sat on it while surfing through my playlist. Putting on my earphones, I gave Danielle a grin and pressed the shuffle button.
I already planned on skipping today and Danielle isn't going to stop me. There is no way in hell that I'm attending that boring Science presentation.
As Vampire Weekend boomed into my ears, I watched Danielle's rage. She made a lot of angry hand gestures while her face turns red. I find this very amusing and can't help but laugh out loud. Next thing I know, my earphones are out of my ears and my iPod is on the ground.
CRACK!
THUMP!
"Fucking listen to me when I'm talking to you!" Danielle exclaimed, her very light grey eyes lit up with anger. As much as I would like to stare at her adorable eyes. My own are now glued to my precious iPod on the floor. It's cracked. Split in half. And my earphones... Oh god, my earphones.
"NO!" I yelled and went to grab the pieces in shock. "I need them, I don't have an extra pair, fuck!" I held the messed up wires on my hands softly and winced when I realized that they're dead.
Staring up at Danielle who was red-eyed from crying, I can't help but feel... Forgiving. She looked so sad, so angry, and I took a deep breath trying to control myself. I tried giving her a serious look but end up frowning instead.
"You deserved that." She said, her voice firm, while putting her golden blonde hair into a pony tail, and simply walked away, leaving me alone in the quiet music room. I stared after her, taking in her presence. My eyes travelled down the swaying of her hips gracefully, and her perfectly defined butt. I forced myself to look away, a blush creeping up on my cheeks.
Just a minute ago, she looked weak, useless, and almost giving up on living. But then as she walked away with her head held up high, her straight back, and her confident posture, I can't help but respect her.
Even though she destroyed my precious iPod with no mercy, and even though she may be rude to me... I didn't seem mad anymore.
I guess you could say that I'm good at reading people because whatever her problem might be, I can tell that it's big. Bigger than her, enveloping her surrounding and she still breathes to survive. She managed to stay afloat and fight it. Whatever it is.
Danielle stopped by the door and gave me a glare.
I stared back at her with awe.
Then she lifted her arms up towards me and held up two middle fingers, before slamming the door shut with a loud thud.
That was the day when I looked at Danielle Day differently. That was when I started having a crush on Danielle Day.
In my mind, I thought,
Danielle Day is an awesome, and sexy bitch.
Man, I didn't realize that this attraction would lead me to trouble.
