A Hobbit and A Dwarf

I: First meeting

The light of the morning shows a city up ahead. Finally we have arrived at the dwarf city in Ered-Luin. Thorin Oakenshield invited my father and my father asked me to accompany him. Why are we, two hobbits, would want to travel far from our nice and comfy hobbit hole? Well, we're Tooks. I, myself had already traveled all The Shire while my dad already been outside The Shire.

We stopped in front of six dwarfs. Two of them are still young, one blonde and one brown. I can already tell the blonde one is in his early twenties. I got down from my pony and splash. There's a mud puddle, the blonde's shoes are covered in mud.

"Oh my, i'm so sorry. I didn't know there's a mud puddle." I said apologizing.

"That's okay. I was planning on washing them later anyways." He said it like it happened almost all the time. His voice is so smooth.

Dad is already talking with Thorin. A hand grab my hand and pull me. Once i'm able to keep up my pace the blonde dwarf doesn't let go of my hand. I see the brown dwarf ahead of us. They take me to the armory.

"What are we doing here,.....?" I ask. I don't know their names tho.

"To let the grown ups be with their business and we with ours. I'm Fìli and that's Kìli. I've made plans of what we're gonna do this whole week you're here." Well, he's prepared.

I chuckled. Before he can ask why, i already talk,
"My name's Nili. It's funny that we're not related and our names show that we're like, triplets."

Then we start laughing. The armory was small at first, but when you go to the inside it's really huge. There's no one else in here, Fìli sees me curious and he starts to explain things. Turns out this armory is a second armory, when an unexpected attack happen all dwarf will come here and grab their weapons. Man and woman. While the young ones run for the middle of the town.

Fìli starts to play with his sword and Kìli with his bow. I didn't realize that i haven't take off my cloak. Quickly i take it off, get the pin that's holding my hair and put it in my vest. I let my long brunette hair fall to my back. When i turn around i see them staring at me.

"What? Never see a girl with no cloak before?"

Fìli's eyes is checking me from top to bottom before saying,
"Just didn't expect a girl with a lot of hidden knives." A smirk formed on his face. How did he know that i have knives??

I join them on their little training. They prefer using 'play' than 'train'. I don't know why and for once i don't really care. I surprised Fìli with unsheathing my double swords. We start pairing then.

We finish 'playing' when a dwarf walks in and tells us that lunch is ready. I quickly sheeted my double swords and grab my cloak. I see the two dwarfs whispering to each other in the corner of my eye. Boys. We walk to the main building through a shorter road. The building is really big. So is the dining room. There are various of food and lots of them, i usually eat little amount of food due to all the journeys i've done.

The food were all delicious! We spend the rest of the day just goofing around while Dìs keep on worrying if i hurt myself. Since she doesn't know me. The week was fun, i get to read some dwarven book and a little of their history while waiting the brothers do some writings.

Then comes the day where i go home. Back to Hobbitton. Fìli gives me a necklace, it's really beautiful. It have two small diamonds and a rune. In return I give him a kiss on the cheek. I see his face redden and surprised. I give him a quick last glance, showing my true eyes forms and ride down Ered-Luin. I'll see him anytime soon, i say to myself. And i really hope so.
