Chapter 1

---

PIC OF ABI TO THE SIDE

"Abigail Marie Fisher!" My Mom yelled. "Come downstairs!" Oh god. She used my full name. This can't be good. She only uses my full name if I'm in trouble.

I slowly got of my bed and stretched before going the same pace down the stairs and into the kitchen. She was practically inside of the refrigerator.

"Looking for something?" I asked sweetly hoping it wasn't something that I ate on my midnight binge.

"Yeah. Where are the pickles?" She asked annoyed stepping away from the fridge looking me in the eye. So much for hope.

"Uh. Maybe Niall ate them." I shrugged.

"Abi, I would believe you hunny, but Niall's in Ghana." She crossed her arms.

"Oh. Speaking of Niall, he should be coming back soon." I said changing the subject.

"Oh. Maybe he can tell me where my pickles went." She said sarcastically shutting the fridge. Finally in only five days my best friend will be back! It's been close to two months without him. It's been tough. I mean I have other friends like Maddy and Ive seen him a couple of times on occasion when he was doing a show in Ireland. But Niall and I have this special connection. It's like we would die of we could never see each other again. But he's finally going to get a long well deserved break.

"When's the last day?"

I whipped around and seen my Dad setting down a newspaper on the counter. I gasped and put my hand over my heart.

"You scared me have to death!" I said.

"Good morning to you too Abi." He said chuckling picking up his cup of coffee. I walked over and gave him a quick hug. He kissed me on the cheek.

"I think it's this Thursday, I'm not positive. But he'll be here for sure by the next." I said opening the fridge and getting out the orange juice carton.

"That's good." Mom said turning on the sink to start the dishes. Dad set down his newspaper and put his cup in the sink. Mom gave him a look.

"Sorry, sorry." He said kissing her cheek. "I gotta run. Bye." He smiled grabbing his keys and walking out of the front door. I poured my juice and took his spot at the counter.

"So what are the plans today?" Mom asked as she washed the cup Dad had just put in the sink.

"Maddy and I made plans to hang out here," I said.

"Well I'm going to the store, so the house will be empty." She said. I nodded and took a sip of my juice. "Hopefully you two don't make a mess."

"Have we ever?" I asked with the most innocent look on my face.

"Yes. Plenty of times." She said turning off the sink and drying her hands with a towel.

"I don't remember..." I said.

"Sure you don't." She said grabbing her keys. "I'll see you later hun." She gave me a small hug and left.

I picked up my phone and quickly dialed Maddy's phone number and pressed talk. I tapped my fingers in the counter and sipped my juice as it rang.

"Hello?" She answered groggily with a yawn.

"You told me you were on your way ten minutes ago." I laughed. "Why are you in bed?"

"You know me. I took a shower then got cold. I got back into bed and I was out like a light." She said.

"Well come on! I'm all alone!" I whined.
