I've Got Your Back

Kyuubi POV

Watching Sasuke and Gaara try to walk close to Big Bro was so amusing, I almost laughed. It was so amusing that I didn't notice the two nasty looking guys walking directly towards me. Finally noticing them about a foot away from me, I turned back to Naruto, about to alert him of my situation.

I didn't have to. Because he was already glaring at the guys with enough venom to make a grizzly bear crawl into a hole and die.

Shivering in fear at my brother's terrifying glare, I didn't notice the two guys getting closer to me. I didn't notice when the slightly shorter guy with an ugly face swung his giant fist back. I didn't notice when the fist he threw was an inch away from my face.

I did notice, however, when bruising pain exploded across the left side of my jaw.

Naruto POV

Running up to Kyuubi just as he was hit made me angry. Angry at the guys who hit him. Angry at Sasuke and Gaara for distracting me. Angry at myself for not noticing in time.

Just as the second guy was throwing a punch, I swooped in and grabbed his fist right before it hit Kyuubi's chest. Throwing the guy overhead so he landed behind me on his back, I turned 180 degrees so that I was facing him, and slammed my foot down on his stomach so hard that he threw up all over his chest just narrowly missing my shoe. Behind me I could hear someone grunt and almost smiled.

Sasuke had my back. Like always.

Thinking that the guy I was beating up had had enough, I turned around to be met with the most amazing sight ever.

Sasuke, covered in sweat, stopping the other guy from landing a blow to my back.

Something about that made my heart flutter with happiness. This time I did smile. Because he still has my back.

I know, I know I took a really long break. But I have great excuses!

1.) a lot of school assignments

2.) my mom is sick

3.) my baby sister is sick
