Raziel opened his eyes to find himself in lying in a bed in a room he didn't recognize. He slowly sat up and looked at his surroundings. He didn't recognize the room as anywhere he had been before and could tell that he was in a medical center of some sort. He stood up and looked in a mirror to see that his silver hair had grown lighter. The door opened and a women walked through the doorway then paused when she realized that Raziel was awake.
"Oh, its nice to see that your finally awake. You've been asleep for 5 days. I'll have someone contact your mother and father"
The nurse quickly backed out of the room and shut the door leaving Raziel standing in the room alone. His hands slowly clenched into fist as he thought about what the woman had said.
"Mother and father?? I don't have either one.. Not anymore.."
A group of Doctors soon came into the room and began running test to check Raziel's physical condition. They continued running different test and examinations for two hours before they were finally convinced that Raziel would be ok to leave the hospital. As the doctors were leaving Raziel turned to the eldest doctor.
"Excuse me. Doctor could you tell me where we are at? I can tell that this is a medical center but are we in a hospital?"
The doctor laughed for a moment before answering.
"Well my boy at least you can tell your in a medical center. But no we are not in a hospital. Though most of us worked in hospitals before being transferred here. This is The Eastern Church."
Raziel looked at the doctor with a shocked face.
"Eastern!? But why? We would have been closer to the Central Church? Why send me here?"
The doctor paused as Raziel asked his question then closed the door and let out a sigh
"We aren't supposed to tell you but i don't feel comfortable lying to one of my patients. You were brought here because you were covered in large amounts of demonic energy. The Capital decided that they didn't want to bring you there and forced your family and the few doctors and church officials that were with you to bring you all the way here instead. And the smaller church you all were at was completely obliterated. You and your family were the only survivors. I don't know exactly what you are involved in but demonic power is never worth the price."
The man had a sad look on his face after he finished talking and Raziel stayed quiet as he thought about the situation.
"How long until i am able to leave?
The doctor looked at Raziel with his own shocked expression.
"You mean they haven't told you? No.. I suppose they wouldn't.. They don't intend to let you leave. They intend to keep you imprisoned here until they can convince all the council members in the capital to agree to an execution. They say that you'll cause more problems if you're left alive.. I'm sorry boy. I wish i could do something to help you. But this situation is out of my hands now"
Raziel sat on the edge of the bed and looked down at the floor in shock. The doctor bowed his head and walked out of the room closing the door behind him. Nobody else came to visit Raziel the rest of the day and he sat on his bed quietly looking at the ceiling until he fell asleep. He woke up the next morning to someone knocking on the door to the room.. He had enough time to stand up before the door opened and a man with dark red hair walked into the room. Raziel sighed at the sight of a familiar face.
"Oh. Its you. Its been a long time. Too bad these are the circumstances for us seeing each other again. Don't you agree Balius?"
Balius closed the door behind him and crossed his arms over his chest.
"This isn't a friendly visit and you know it. I'm here to tell you about the current situation."
Raziel stood up and stretched.
"Have you been to see your wife and daughter?"
Balius sighed.
"Yes. I have. Now on to the real reason im here."
Raziel stopped stretching and looked at Balius with a calm face
"It's fine. How long until the execution?"
Balius looked down with a sad expression.
"They will move you to the location in three days. The council has even given the fallen angels the job of being in charge of the execution. They plan on having the fallen angels as allies during the future battle with Dragonhorne."
Raziel laughed and sat down on the edge of the bed after he heard the explanation.
"They must be a bunch of idiots if they really believe that the fallen angels will side with them."
Balius sat down in a chair on the opposite side of the room.
"I agree. There were a couple of council members including myself who were not only against your execution but the act of siding with the fallen angels. We recognize how foolish it is. But we were overruled. I suspect that some of the council members have already become members of Dragonhorne and are trying to destroy the church system from the inside."
Raziel nodded in agreement.
"That is a likely possibility. You definitely should not rule that possibility out."
They both sat quietly for awhile until Balius stood up and walked to the door.
"Raziel.. Evina and I.. We may have adopted you. But we thought of you and Mayumi as our own children ever since the day we took you in from my sister when you were still children. I'm sorry that things had to turn out this way."
Balius exited the room and closed the door behind him. Raziel looked down and his hands tightened in his lap as he got a sad smile on his face.
"I'm sorry things turned out this way too. Make sure to take care of my sister. And thank you for everything.. Old man.."
