As soon as my head hit the pillow, I assumed I would be out. But, the room was too cold, the TV too loud, bed not comfortable enough. It's always something. I got out of bed and made my way to the living room. I turned on my phone and texted my boyfriend, Josh.
"Hey, I can't sleep. :/"
I set down my phone and walked into the kitchen. I came back in with a cup of tea and there was a text from Josh.
"Need company? (;"
"Don't be a tease ;p"
I was a bit nervous because he could be serious. Josh only lived down the block from me. He was always getting in troule, so I'm sure he doesn't care if his parents catch him leaving at unspeakable hours. I secretely hoped he was coming over. Maybe we could just watch a movie or something. I have to get my mind off of things. I waited on the couch playing some stupid iPhone game I downloaded. It's been nearly ten minutes and I hadn't recieved a text. However, I did recieve a knock on my apartment door causing me to jump 20 feet out of my skin. I assumed it was Josh and immeadiately got butterflies. I shook my hands out and walked to the door.
I peered through the peephole to confirm my suspicions. It was Josh. I bit my lip to hold in my smile as I unlocked the door and twisted the handle. The door was hardly open when he wrapped his strong arms around me and picked me up. When he set me down, he leaned in and gave me a long, sweet kiss. When we pulled apart, I took a deep breath. He smelled like cologne and the outside. He shuffled closer to me and set his hands on my hips,
"I assumed you wanted company," he breathed into my ear. His breath was warm on my cold skin and it gave me goosebumps. I smiled before replying,
"I knew you'd come regardless."
He smirked and lifted me up bridal style. He made his way into the living room, shutting the door with his foot. He set me down on the couch and took off his shoes before sitting next to me. He looked at me and kicked his legs over my lap, pretending to twirl his hair. He batted his eyelashes and spoke in a snobbish girly voice,
"Ugh, we should eat something!" I snorted at his silly voice and kicked him off my lap.
"I'm cold," I said as I stood, "I'm going to grab a hoodie, then we can eat."
"Alright, beau" he said, still using his girly voice, "don't take long!"
I rolled my eyes, still laughing, as I walked through my hallway into my bedroom. I checked the clock on the table. 3:00 already? He hasn't been over my house this late since we were 17. I mean, we're only 19 now, but I wasn't living in my own place. I try to imagine how it was when I still lived with my parents. He would sneak into my window at times, and I remember the day he got caught. I still couldn't believe he came to my house at almost 2:00 a.m. to give me a necklace. I smiled, reaching down to my neck where it still hung. It was a simple heart withmy initials engraved in the back. I came back to earth, trying not to take to long I bent down to grab a sweater that I threw on the floor earlier. I heard to door creak a little and it made me jump. I quickly around and to my relief it was Josh in the doorway. I don't know who else it could've been, but still.
"Awh, come on! Bend back over, I was enjoying the veiw, Meg," he jokingly whined as he walked into the room towards me.
I began to pull the sweater around me before Josh stopped me by pulling it right back off. I looked up into his eyes, too find them locked onto mine.
"What are you doing?" I bit my lip to hold in my giggle, "I was coming out to get us some snacks, youknow"
"Worry about the food later," he dipped his head to my neck sucking on it lightly.
