"Oh my god, you can... talk." I said.

"These collars give us the ability to be understood by you humans. We can speak, it's just that we gargle our words in high pitched tones when we communicate." Earth explained.

"What do we do now?" I asked.

"I'm not done, I need to get to that tower over there." He said, pointing at a tall building through the window.

"What did you bring your family for?" I questioned.

Earth took the clump of ice out of his pocket and examined it. "There is one more thing I have to do after that."

He walked into a bathroom, later he came out wearing every day, human-like, clothes. A dark brown leather jacket with copper outline, and black pants with the same color shoes. And I must admit that he looked kinda hot.

"I feel cleaner." he laughed.

We both went down stairs and gathered Joe and James. They were shocked when they heard Earth talking. We entered his garage and took off in his car. There cars are just like human cars, how is this possible? I thought to myself.

In a couple minutes we got to the tower, and walked up to the front doors. Earth tried to open them but they were locked. Then we began to consider looking for an open window or something, that is until James decided to randomly charge into the glass doors and brake in.

"Aw, that was a very bad idea!" He said picking himself off the floor. "Oh crap my arm..." James had a glass shard stuck into his arm, and he was bleeding badly.

"Oh my, are you Ok?" Earth asked.

"Don't worry, he's used to doing stupid things." I joked.

"Haha, very funny." James mocked as he opened the door from the inside.

"Let me take a look at that." Joe insisted as he walked up to James and closely examined the glass shard.

He asked if James felt it hit the bone, and he shook his head. Joe lightly grabbed the glass. "Hey, be careful..." James warned. "Just gonna take this nice and slow, Ok?" said Joe. James nodded nervously. Joe began to slowly pull on the shard, and then suddenly yanked out quickly.

"Ah!" James yelped. "Thats not cool!"

"Well it worked." Joe blurted.

"Come on lets go, we don't have time for this." I nagged.

"Wait a minute..." said Earth. "The human body is fifty to sixty percent water, if he goes outside with an open wound then he will freeze from the inside."

"B-but I need to get home." James whined. "I have a wife and kids, I can't stay here!"

"I'll just stitch him up, everything will be fine." Joe mentioned.

"This is air we are talking about." Earth reminded. "If it can slip through the stitches then he's dead."

"Wait we have our suits back at the shuttle." I said.

"Uh, me and Joe didn't bring ours." James admitted. "And yours won't fit me, trust me I've tried."

I gave James a curiouse look. "You tried to put on my suit?"

"I uh, um...mistaken it for my suit, I realized it was yours cause it was too tight for me to zip up."

"Suuuure..." Joe grinned.

"We'll solve this later, right now we gotta get the lights." I said.

James pouted while we made our way up the tower. Finally we made it to what Earth said was the top floor. There was a sky light widow above us that showed a network of bridges leading to different platforms with buildings on them. I was guessing that it might have been another city above us.

"Whoa whats all this." James said amazed.

"I don't really know much about it, but this is were our government facilaties or whatever was." Earth mentioned. "I hardly am ever at the top floor, but usually you can see people walking along these bridges and they will look like tiny insects."

"So what are we doing here?" Joe asked.

"Last time I was up here, I was called to cover my friends shift as he was running late." Earth took a seat at a desk were there was an ordinary computer, and hacked into it. "I was supposed to set the comunity's temperature to morning-appropriate, and while I was doing that I swear I saw a setting for the lights as well."

"Was your friend that other alien that tried to kill us." James asked.

Earth nodded. "Yes... his name was Luyten. I still don't understand why he would...."

I could already tell that Earth was about to cry, I guess that they used to be really close friends. I put my hand on Earth's shoulder comforting him. He just sighed and continued looking for the lights setting.

"I found it!" He blurted.

As he messed with the settings, the lights in the garage-looking town began to dim, and in moments more aliens began to pour in through the entrance. Earth sat back in his chair relived.

"Home sweet home..."
