Another tedious day, full of paperwork, has come or at least that's what I thought until Ashley announced the initiation of something that might just change my life forever. KEYWORD :Might.
"Hey Ayra!Boss just announced a meeting for today." We were in the parking lot and started walking towards our cubicles.
"Hey. Why all of a sudden?"
"Not sure,I've been told that it has something to do with a new project."
"Hmmm, ok.When's it at?"
"At 9:30.I wish we got more information on these projects before the meetings." I checked my watch, it's 8:45AM,I have some time to finish the last write up before the meeting.
"Me too but there's a reason for all the secrets, Boss doesn't want other departments to find out about our projects until we get somewhere in them."
I know.I know but sometimes I get tired of keeping all these secrets and not knowing what the next project will be."
"We all do but it's our job.We chose it for a reason."
I really do love my job, even despite all the danger surrounding me because it.The paperwork brings me the most joy, note sarcasm.I'm a secret intelligence reporter.Yes,you heard it right, and I have powers, my ninja skills. Just kidding, I have skills similar to that of spies; sort of.We get send on missions where we have to basically gather information on whatever project we are given and then use that to show people what's really going on through reports, news and documentary. We DON'T show any propaganda, in case, you're wondering and we're very proud of that." All Honesty is the way to go" is our logo.I know,I know that it's kind of lame but hey, it gets our point across. Contrary to popular rumors, we're not affiliated with the police or any crime branch. We have decided to help whenever if they ask for it, only if it doesn't break our polices, however, that's only happened once.
"Did you hear about the new member who joined our team today?"
"No!A new member when we are about to start our new project? What is boss thinking?"
She shrugged." His name is Kyle.Apparently, Boss thinks he has enough experience to start.I had to wait a year doing tedious paperwork and training before he thought I was worthy for my first mission. You got off at 6 months."
"What can I say.See you at the meeting,Ashley."I said as we parted ways.
"See you and be on time."
"Hey, that was only one tim-"She was out of sight before I could finish. When will she stop teasing me about that? I can't stand being late for any meetings or for anything basically and I obviously preach that. So, when I accidentally forgot to set my alarm one day and slept in... it was not a pleasant situation. I came in halfway through that important meeting and my face was covered with sheer embarrassment; she's been teasing me about that ever since.
Thankfully, I finished the last page of my report on time and made my way to the meeting room.A boy in his mid 20's,whom I presume to be Kyle, was sitting across from Hani. He, my friends, is the technology nerd of our team.
"Hello everyone, I'm glad you all could make it on such a short notice." Josh, the boss started." Firstly,I would like you all to welcome Kyle who will be joining our small team of 10 people." We quickly said our hi and hellos to him." I know that you are all curious as to why I called for an urgent meeting.Few days ago, I came to know about a genocide happening in a country called Myanmar. Our agents were only able to get some information about it.The Rohingya are a Muslim minority population living mainly in the state of Arakan, in Myanmar (Burma). Although approximately 800,000 Rohingya live in Myanmar, and apparently their ancestors were in the country for centuries, the Burmese government does not recognize Rohingya people as citizens. They are living in terrible conditions, so I have been told and the government doesn't want other people/nation to know about this,so,they are doing everything in their power to hide it." Pause."We Still don't know a lot of the details and that's why and I need you to do what you all do the best.I need you to find me all the details, how it started, the conditions rohingya people are living in and basically everything."
