“So, no tricks; just put the cards on the projector”, I asked as the elevator door opened up to a plum colored room.
“For the third time, yes. But in the correct order”, the ginger sighed as I sprinted to the screen and began to arrange the cards in order.
“So, can I ask you a question, Crane”, Nigma asked over the intercom.
I continued to work, but still replied,” Sure.”
She waited a few seconds before she asked with excitement,” Do you like Samantha?”
“Well, she’s one of my only friends, so…”
“No, I mean do you have feelings for her”, she interrupted, causing me to stop my work in shock.
Feelings for Sam? I know that admitting one’s feelings is important so it won’t be locked up; but every time I think about my feelings for her, all the facts and possibilities point to that it wouldn’t end well. For example, I act more like an adult while Sam is energetic and playful, like a teenager. I’m usually blunt while Sam seems to hide the fact that she is sensitive. I’m serious while she’s joking around. We’re complete opposites and we would get into too many fights if we were together. Ha, I don’t even think she has feelings for me anyways.
“Why are you asking me this? I thought you knew everything”, I asked as I continued to put the cards in order again.
“Just trying to see if you know the answer. So, do you have feelings for Samantha?” I stopped messing with the cards, again, as I tried to keep my poker face.
“No, I don’t.” I could tell Nigma was shocked because of her staying silence for a minute.
“What? You do like her, I see it in your eyes. You’re lying about this, I know you are.”
“She’s nothing more than an acquaintance. And I didn’t save her because I couldn’t just let her die. Nothing else.”
Instead of getting a response from Elina, the walls on my right and in front of me began to descend into the floor, causing the room to double in size. As the walls continued to descend, the projector began to move towards the right wall.
When the walls finally disappeared, I looked across the room and saw Samantha standing on the right side of the room with tears streaming down her face. I was about to walk up to her when a set of double doors opened up and allowed her to run out of the room.
I stood dumbfounded as the ginger enigma entered the room.
“Well, that went well. Come with me and I’ll show you to your room and give you the grand tour.”
I nodded my head as I followed her through the green, black, and purple hallways.
*** Change P.O.V***
With tears streaming down my face, I ran pass the green uniformed guards; trying to find my way out of this damned building.
‘I don’t like her. She’s nothing more than acquaintance.’ His words continued to replay in my head, making me with it would just go away for good.
I don’t get why I’m heartbroken about this, since I’m not head-over-heels for him. I bet it’s because he said I was nothing to him. The only thing I know is that I feel like my heart literally broke and that I need to get out of here.
As I continued to run, I heard Juliet screaming my name. I continued to ignore her as I found a pair of double doors and slammed it open, being relieved that I finally free from that madhouse. As I run straight through the road, I look around to find a place to hide at till I could calm myself down. Surrounding me are tall skyscrapers that are either painted Kelly green or purple with black tinted windows, not including all the strange green and black clothed citizens.
The unfamiliar citizens continued to walk around; that is until they heard a car horn coming from behind me. Like the random bystanders, I turned around to see a pair of headlights heading straight for me…
