I decided to give Niall a chance.

But not right away.

After unblocking him on Twitter I read the DM he sent me earlier,

Morning , Love ! Hope to talk soon . X Niall

Of course, I found this incredibly dumb and almost blocked him again, but I decided against it, as it would be rude... Again. I didn't respond, though. Why would I? I have nothing to say to him. Well, not yet at least.

Mark let me leave practice after we had our sentimental talk and now I'm currently at my flat, curled up in a blanket on my couch watching Breakfast at Tiffany's with Ripley snuggled in my lap.

I called Macy on my way home and asked her which pizza place she preferred for dinner, but she said that she was going out with some of her design class friends, so, it's just me and my movies for the night.

Just the way I like it.

Since I was a kid, I've always loved Breakfast at Tiffany's. My mother and I would often watch this movie whenever we had the chance. It was our little thing we used to do.

We'd quote our favorite lines, mine being when Paul says, "I'm the sensitive, bookish type." My mum always agreed that I was a reincarnation of Paul since she thought we were so alike.

I never understood my mothers favorite line though...it's from the last scene of the movie where Paul is trying to convince Holly to stay in the city with him. He says, "People do fall in love. People do belong to each other, because that's the only chance anybody's got for real happiness."

I wonder if my mother was trying to tell me something by having that as her favorite line. I understood mine because I was such (and still am) a sensitive, book person, so I like to think. But hers... it never made sense. I don't understand love.

Curious, I decided to call her. I reach next to me and grab my house phone and start dialing my mothers number. After three rings, she picks up.

"Hi, Baby! How are you?" My mum says joyfully.

"Hi, Mumma. I'm good, just watching our favorite movie with Ripley," I tell her with a smile on my face.

"Breakfast at Tiffany's? We haven't watched that together in I don't know how long. I wish you would have called me earlier, I would have canceled my plans and came to watch with you," she says. I can hear the disappointment in her voice.

I sigh. "It's okay. Another time, I promise. Am I interrupting something? Should I call back later?"

"Oh, no, you're fine, Jess. I'm out to dinner with an old friend who I'd lost touch with and now I  remember why we lost touch; she does not stop talking about her cats. When I saw you were calling I told her I had to step outside for a moment. Your phone call saved me," she jokes.

I let out a laugh and smile. "Glad I could be of service," I tease. "Hey, really quickly. I have a question."

"Mhm, what's up, Baby?"

"Do you remember your favorite quote from the movie?" I ask. I pet Ripley's head lightly and he yawns.

"Of course. It's been my favorite quote for over twenty years now. What about it?"
