The sky was as black as ink, not a single star tainted the night sky. I felt him before I caught his scent. He was close, closer than before, closer than I wanted him to be.

Everything and everyone around me was a blur, I was faster than the speed of light yet I caught every movement and every word as though I was a part of them.

I couldn't think straight when bright blue eyes, the colour of sapphire caught sight of me. Within the blurry haze of faces I didn't know, people I didn't recognise, he stood out. Worse, he saw me. He smiled at me as though I were a passersby, as though I wasn't running at top speed, he saw me, it was like he knew, out of them all, he knew that I was there, that I was not like everyone else. That I wa-

"Sir? "I blinked my eyes open at the sound of a soft timid voice. I blinked again. My vision was filled with the hazy colour of sapphire. I looked up at her and her sky blue eyes stared at me with a soft smile. "We've just arrived, sir." She said as though it made all the sense in the world. I lifted my head up, trying to bring myself back to earth, back to my current situation. I looked out the window to see the train station. Of course, the train station. New Orleans. I put on a fake smile and she brightened.

She sighed and moved to the side for me to exit.

"Thank you for alerting me, I would have slept there all day and night." She let out a giggle at my obvious lie. I never slept, it never happened, never will, but that didn't mean I couldn't pretend to be asleep. Closing my eyes, it never brought me any good.

"You're welcome." She said as I walked away, my suitcase in hand. "He is so dreamy," she sighed and I smirked.

"No, he's not. He's just another one of them rich people who think they are above us." Her new companion said in a grumble and I laughed at the bitterness in his tone. I could tell he had a thing for his coworker.

"Don't be jealous, Fred, one day, you could be one of them." I heard the click of her short heels as she walked away as I already stood by the check point.

My nose wrinkled at the odour that filtered through my senses. Wolves. I thought as the smell of dog seemed to get stronger as I made my way out of the train station. The crowd of people seemed to part for me, allowing me easy leave without question. Flirtatious smiles came my way from both men and women. A new start, as always that was the thought that ran through my head every time I had to move. I was already getting bored with it all.

I stopped outside as a group of four wolves stood waiting. A female with a short afro stood to the left and three other men, one larger than the rest and from the authority which radiated, I could only suspect it to be either the Alpha or the Beta. I held my breath and approached them. They growled lowly enough as to not alarm the humans walking by us. I stopped a foot away and offered them a small smile.

"Hello, I see the welcoming committee is right on time." They scowled before parting and opening the door to the large car they had been standing in front of. I sighed and moved to get in. The girl took my bag and put it into the boot. I got myself comfortable. Mentally, I prepared myself for the disgusting smell of dog.

They entered and soon the car was in motion. Sapphire blue eyes haunted me whenever I closed my eyes. They seemed so foreign and yet, so very familiar.

"What business do you have here? "The leader asked. I turned to him and sighed.

"Honestly, for you to have found me at the train station, you must have obviously read my letter which gives me clear indication that you know why I'm here." He narrowed his dark wolfish eyes at me, warning me not to test him. "I am here for a new start. The people were beginning to suspect me, why else would I move here?" I rolled my eyes at the stubborn trait.

"Were you followed? "

"Isn't that your job?" He narrowed his eyes. He knew I was right though, if he knew I was coming, he'd have made sure to have the train I was in followed, to make sure that I bring no harm. Ridiculous, because if I had wanted trouble, I'd have had my people follow me only after a few days.

"I hope you know the rules you have to follow, bloodsuckers, we won't tolerate any infraction." I nodded with a subtle eye roll.

"I have more control than you think, Callum." I said addressing him and he growled as the car came to a stop. I got out and my bag was handed to me.

"We will be watching you." I kept walking, paying him no mind, I already knew I'd be watched. It was only precaution.

I looked up at the large house. The forest surrounded me and I felt at home with the freedom it gave me. I gripped my bag and walked up to the white house. I closed the door and headed for the bedroom. I opened my suitcase and opened up my journal.

September 15th

The dreams have strengthened. I saw his face this time, I saw the very lines which drew his smile and my chest felt as though there was an actual heart pumping blood through my cold veins.

Sapphire blue, the colour of his eyes, the colour which I know will haunt my eternal soul. I want to see more of him, is it wrong? That I want to close my eyes and present that I'm sleeping just so I can see his face again? Just for one more glance? Is it wrong?

I keep wondering though, is he real? Does he live among the living or among the dead or among those in between, like me? Does he dream of my face? If so, does it make him feel alive for the first time, like it does me?

I wonder, why do I see him when I close my eyes even for a split second? Why? Who is the man who passes by in my dreams with sapphire blue eyes? I think I'm going insane, three centuries and finally I've lost it. I'm asking about fictional creatures I myself have conjured up. But, why does it feel so real?
