"Blessed Ones, We are gathered here to witness the coming of age of our successors. May the deities bless them all!"
Everyone clapped their hands after that little speech coming from the Priestess. They all seemed to be happy. He looked to his left and saw that Clifford was dozing off. He chuckled and the sight. Typical Clifford!
He then decided to look on his right. His best friend is there, looking calm and attentive through his lazy grey eyes. He then decided to lean closer to Carlisle's ear to whisper something.
"We should've just ditched this ceremony. It's boring me to death!" he said with an eye roll.
Carlisle just snorted but didn't respond. He frowned.
"You should somehow respond to me, you know? It's unfair to see that only me and Cliff feel this way." he whispered.
"Well, Steven, maybe if you try harder, you can also do what I do during these boring events." Carlisle replied and returned his focus to the priestess.
"You're so mean to me, you know that?" he told him. Carlisle didn't look at him and just smirked.
Steven smiled and decided to focus on what was happening in front of him. He was thinking of waking Clifford up but decided against it. Clifford might go all angry wolf on him if he does that.

He is now standing in front of the buffet table getting some food. After picking some and putting it in his plate, he walked back to their table. Clifford is now awake, eating his food while Carlisle is busy texting, only the Gods know who, in front of his own plate. Next to him is Czarina, eating with such elegance. And on Clifford's left is where Misha is seated. They were the five witches who just had the coming of age. He sat down and started eating too.
After some time, he sighed and looked at his best friend. "You should eat first. Stop texting whoever that is." he ordered Carlisle.
Carlisle just raised an eyebrow and looked at him. Then shrugged after a while and put his phone down and started eating.
"Happy now, mother?" Carlisle asked sarcastically.
"Yes." he replied, smirking.
He heard a chuckle from Clifford and giggles from the two girls. He decided to go back to eating his food. A few moments later, he felt a hand was placed on his shoulder. He looked up and saw his parents both smiling at him.
"I'm proud of you, son." his father said.
"Me too, Stevie. Congratulations!" his mom hugged him from the back and kissed his right cheek.
"Mom!" Steven whined. He doesn't really like that nickname. He's too old for that.
Everyone on the table laughed including his parents.
"Yes, Stevie. As your best friend, I'm happy for you." Carlisle cooed, clearly trying to annoy him.
"Oh shut up, Freak!" he mumbled but then realized that he said it loudly when his mother smacked him in the back of his head.
"Steven Gray, be nice!"
He just mumbled an apology while glaring at his best friend. Everybody roared their laughter at that scene.

"I can't believe you'll be sent overseas. Why can't they just find something for you here?" he whined. The banquet has just ended and the attendees are starting to go to their respective homes. Carlisle and Steven decided to go to the balcony to get some fresh air. After hearing where he'll go for his training, they badly need it.
