"So can you and I talk about something Jack?" Marty says looking over at her best friend. She had something to tell him that she was going to do something that was really important to her. She really wanted his support and advice. But she had a feeling in her gut that he wouldn't agree with at all.
They were both laying in the grass out in the middle of a field at a park. It was about just after noon, they were out trying to enjoy the sunshine while it was here. Laughing and talking about nothing particular. But just like every time they hung out, they were just enjoying each others company.
"No. Marty, we cannot." He says sarcastically pushing himself up to lean back on his elbows and looked down at her waiting for her to see his sarcastic expression.
Once she did, she reaches over and shoves his shoulder making him fall on his side sticking her tongue out at him.
"I'm being serious jerk." she sassed back.
He chuckled as he fixed himself. Looking at her again and giving her a smile.
The two sat there staring at each other. She waited for him to say something. He just continued to look at her with a smirk.
"Jack!" she groaned
"Marty!" He mocked her.
She groaned again annoyed, covering her face with her arm, while Jack laughed. She honestly didn't think he knew how to be serious.
Ever.
"I really need to tell you something Sean." She sighed.
He looked at her then, she rarely ever called him by his real name.
She really was trying to be serious.
Jack sighed "Then just tell me Marty. You know i'm just joking around. " he said. Nudging her with his elbow.
"You can tell me anything."
She took her arm away from her face and looked up at him. "But you might get upset with me."
"Why would I- "
"Because the last time I mentioned it you did." She said cutting him off.
She needed to tell him that she got accepted to the school in America that she applied to. She needed to tell him that she decided to follow her dreams and go. When she told him she was applying there he got upset. He had told her that america was going to change her. And that she'll be so far away from everyone she loves. If it got hard, she couldn't just pack up and move back. He had gotten so upset with her he had hardly talked to her for the next two days.
When he finally came around to talk to her again. He begged her to at least think about it more before deciding.
She needed Sean to understand, she needed him to be supportive. She couldn't understand why he had gotten so upset with her. She had talked to him about how she wanted to go to that art school throughout secondary school. He knows how much it meant for her to go. And he even encouraged and helped make sure she reached her goal.
But now he didn't want her to go?
Jack sighed he knew what this was about. He laid back against the grass and stared straight up at the sky.
"See I've already upset you." She sighed she scooted closer to him so she could rest her head on his shoulder.
"No you haven't, just say what's on your mind Marty."
