I tossed and turned all night and finally gave up. I wouldn't have been able to face them anyway. I packed my duffel bag and got out a pen and paper and sat down at my desk.
Dear mom, dad, Jamie, and Jasper,
I couldn't sleep last night knowing that I wasn't going to see any of you again. I decided that I would just write you a letter. You see, I'm pregnant. I know what you're thinking. You're thinking it's my fault. It's really not. My tech theatre teacher forced me. And now I'm in this situation. I can't be here. I can't face this. The world will break your heart six ways from the sun, that's guaranteed. But you don't need me. You'll get over it. Eventually you'll just stop thinking of me. And you'll move on. It'll be okay. Jamie, I'm sorry that I'm leaving you. There will come a time in your life when you have to choice between what is right and what is easy. And I hope you choice right. You are going to grow up. Get married. Have beautiful children and invent amazing things. I love all of you. I'll see you in another life.
