'JOSHUA FUCKING BALZ!' Devin hollered; storming into the living room. 'IF YOU DONT TELL ME WHERE THE FUCK YOU ARE IM GOING TO OPEN ALL OF THE PRESENTS WITHOUT YOU.' The frustrated boy smoothed his hair down, remembering that stress can give you wrinkles, and forced himself to calm down. He went over to the mirror and used an index finger to smooth out his lipstick; wondering where the hell his boyfriend was. Then he had an idea.
'I'm wearing my sexiest dress, daddy.' Devin bit his lip and waited for a reply. When the house's silence was quieter then a ghost, Devin turned back to the mirror and tugged at the sleeves of his dress, frowning a bit. Josh always got excited and came running when he heard his boyfriend was wearing a dress, and always said they made Devin look beautiful.
After four more minutes of waiting, Devin wandered into the kitchen and bit the head off one of the gingerbread cookies; crunching thoughtfully. Josh HAD said he could open the presents at 8, and it was now 8:09 according to the bright numbers on the stereo clock. Maybe he was hiding behind the Christmas tree in the living room, just waiting to jump out and give his poor boyfriend a heart attack. Devin eagerly ran into the other room; leaping over the couch and going around to the other side of the tree. To his extreme disappointment, a beautiful man with stretched ears, angel bites piercings, and warm arms covered in tattoos was not waiting there for him.
Devin slumped down onto a large, wrapped Christmas box and started to rub his eyes tiredly. He got frustrated very quickly, and being unable to find his boyfriend just made butterflies flutter through his tummy and his heart ache a bit. He loved Josh's company more than any other human on earth, and being away from him for more then five hours could be stressful for the young boy.
'This is silly,' Devin thought; stretching out a leg. 'Josh said to open presents. So I guess I have to go ahead without him.'
Devin sat down on the ground cross legged and tried to pull the big one towards him; frowning when it wouldn't budge.
Letting out a little groan of frustration; he wrapped both arms firmly around the box and gave a hard tug. The present did not move and Devin ran a hand through his hair in a frustrated manner; not even caring if it stuck up in forty different places. Did Josh buy him an elephant?
Devin stood up and tried to lift the box with all his might. Shocker. It didn't budge.
Maybe josh bought him forty elephants. And a giraffe. And the entire fucking beluga whale family from Marineland.
Devin finally gave up, and started to unwrap the present himself; slowly opening the flaps to the box. He was more than a little surprised when styrofoam pellets filled the entire damn thing and a couple already started to scatter onto the floor. Devin gritted his teeth angrily and inhaled sharply through his nose. He HATED the mess. Absolutely hated it. Could not stand it one bit.
Forcing himself to calm down again, he began to dig through the pellets until his hand brushed against something hairy, and he squeaked and pulled his entire arm back.
Terrified out of his wits, the poor boy took a couple steps back and started trembling slightly. He hated surprised almost as much as he hated messes. What the fuck was inside the box? A Shetland pony?
A laugh sounded from somewhere and Devin jumped about eighteen feet. 'J-josh?' He called out; hoping it was his boyfriend and not some serial killer out to murder people on Christmas and make suits out of their skin.
All of a sudden, styrofoam pellets burst everywhere and a familiar figure jumped out from inside the box, wearing a pair of furry antlers on his head, and a furry tail on his bum.
Devin shook his head, smirking a bit and crossing his arm. 'You doof, I nearly had a heart atta-'
He stopped talking when Josh put up a hand to silence him, and stepped closer to the smaller boy.
'Dev, do you remember the first time we met?' He paused and waited for his boyfriend to nod before continuing. 'I couldn't keep my eyes, or my hands off of you.'
Josh smirked and laced his fingers through Devin's; kissing his knuckles softly.
'Honestly I love you so much, you are my stars, my moon, my sun.' The taller boy smiles cheekily and said 'my entire Sola-r system.'
Devin rolled his eyes at the stupid pun and stood on his tiptoes to give his boyfriend a kiss but Josh pushed him away gently.
Slightly hurt, Devin pulled away and stretched himself up to full height; casting his eyes to the ground. He was starting to feel like Josh was about to break up with him, but why was he saying sweet things and dressed like a fucking reindeer?
Devin was used to his boyfriend doing weird shit like this so he stood still patiently and waited for Josh to continue.
'I guess I won't beat around the bush, my sweet angel.'
Devin's heart sunk at those words. He guessed this was the moment when Josh said he was leaving and never wanted to see him again.
'Will you marry me?'
Devin jerked his head up; eyes wide and saw his boyfriend grinning from ear to ear, bent down on one knee and holding open a box.
His eyes filled with tears and he squealed quietly, wiping them away. He should have known Josh wouldn't break up with him. The two had been getting along for four years straight and made the rest of the band extremely jealous with their cuddling and kisses and adorable selfies.
Devin nodded eagerly and Josh slipped the ring on his finger; wrapping his arms around the younger boy's waist and finally giving him the kiss he deserved.
'Merry Christmas, beautiful.' Josh kissed the top of Devin's head softly and the pair both silently looked outside to where the snow was falling on the ground; excited to tell the rest of the band and have a wedding that would scare the shit out of everyone who was related to them.
