Mutant and Proud (A Charles Xavier Fanfiction)

Chapter 3

Once dinner was over we decided to go on a nice stroll in the park. "So genetic mutation is what your thesis was about? Why does that not come as a shock to me?" I say with a slight giggle.

With him walking right next to me he smiles brightly. "Well yes other than my personal experience with mutation it really is a very interesting subject. "

"Yes it is. That's what I've been telling Hank but he doesn't ever listen." I say with a small smile. "So if you are the big expert on mutation, then explain mine."

"Well if we are looking at your DNA there is a slight alteration that gives you and me the ability to do things that others can only imagine doing. The same with Erik and Hank. You could say that our DNA is more advanced than normal human beings" he explains to me. It might seem a little weird but I was actually interested I know most women aren't but this is truly interesting stuff.

"Interesting. Now here comes the real question. Why do you think I should join the team? You already have a telepath I won't be much help." I say looking at the ground.

"Just because we have one telepath doesn't mean that we can't have another. Well the reason that you should join the team is that we need you. You are obviously a phenomenal scientist and we could always try to unlock more to your powers. But the real reason is that you will help distract the other side" he jokes with the last part.

I chuckle. "Now why would you say that?"

"Because of how beautiful you are. It would just blow the other side away knowing that you are capable of such talent" he says and I smile looking down at the ground hiding my blush.

"You think I'm beautiful?" I ask. I have always been very self conscious of my looks.

"Extremely." He says with a slight smile on his face.

"How sweet of you Charles" I say and I look to him again. "I guess I could give the team a try" I say and a wide grin spread on his face.

"Oh that's wonderful" he says excited. "I could kiss you right now"

I giggle a little "woah slow down Charles it's only the first date"

-Time Skip-

Once we got back to my apartment in the facility we stop at my door. "I had a really fun time tonight Charles" I say with a small smile.

"Me too maybe we could do this again sometime " he says and I nod with a small smile.

I unlock my door and open it."goodnight Charles " I say stepping in and shutting the door behind me. I still have a smile on my face and I go to hang up my coat when Hank speaks from his chair.

"I'm guessing you had a fun time?" He asks smug.

"Shut up Hank. In going to go take a shower then go to bed. Goodnight." I say kissing his head then walking off towards the bathroom.

Charles POV

I walk into the living area of where we are staying and I sit down on one of the couches. "Have a goodnight Charles?" I hear Erik say and i turn around to see him walk over and take a seat in front of me.

"It was successful. She agreed to join the team which means we have another recruit so far." I say and Erik smirks.

"She's joining the team?" He asks and I nod. "I bet you are just ecstatic about that aren't you?" He asks and I look at him confused.

"What do you mean?"

"Come on she is beautiful and a mutant are you telling me you aren't going to try to get with her?" Erik asks and my face goes red a little bit.

"Of course she is beautiful but she is not anywhere near my league." I say and Erik smirks. "Anyway I don't see her like that I just met her" I lie.

"Then I guess you wouldn't mind if I take a swing at it. Maybe she would want a strong man to protect her. Make her feel loved" he says and I frown.

"Yeah go ahead" I say getting up. "I'm going off to bed. Goodnight Erik." He says.

Once I'm in bed I think back to Jessica. Erik likes her? Well I guess I have no chance then...

Jessica's POV

After my shower I get in my PJs and get in bed thinking about Charles. He was nice. And pretty attractive if I'm being honest. I decide to locate him in the building.once  I do I talk in his mind.

"Goodnight Charles. Sweet dreams"I say.

"Good night Jessica. See you tomorrow" he says and I smile. I turn off my night light and go to sleep getting kind of excited to join the team.

Hey guys sorry this chapter is so short. I hope you guys are all enjoying the holidays. Since break just started in going to try to update more and get a lot of chapters in. I am also going to be starting a new X-Men Fanfiction which will be a Erik/OC so I will let you guys know when it's up. Stay safe and merry Christmas.
