Can't...can't see anything. Can't feel anything. What's happened?

Callie tried to force her eyes open, but she couldn't seem to. She struggled to move, but it seemed something heavy was weighing her down.

She could see a bright light behind her eyelids, and she tried again to open her eyes. Slowly, her eyes began to open, and her vision was blurred. She looked around, blinked a few times and tried to rub her eyes. Her entire body seemed heavy and lifeless.

She managed to gather up enough strength to sit up and rub her eyes. She felt...sick, like her eyes were sore and there was an odd taste in her mouth, and she felt hot.

She looked around, taking in her surroundings. She seemed to be in a bright hospital room. She was lying in a hospital bed, in the gowns they make patients wear. There were two chairs against the wall in front of her, and one beside the bed. The chair beside her had several balloons and bouquets, bright and happy. There was a bedside table with several "Get Well Soon" cards. She heard a beeping sound, and looked up. There was a monitor, showing her heart beat. There were wires everywhere, and a few were connected to her. She decided not to move, so she wouldn't cause trouble. She noticed there were tubes connected to her, too. One was in her wrist.

What happened? Why am I in the hospital?

Callie heard footsteps, and calmly waited. A good-looking, young doctor walked in. Her hair was wrapped in a ponytail, and she wore chic black glasses. She was sporting the white coats doctors usually wore, but she seemed different.

The doctor looked up from a clipboard she was holding, and noticed Callie was awake.

"Oh, hey. You're up." She smiled and walked towards the bed. She stood beside the bed, smiling warmly, and spoke quietly. "Are you feeling well?"

Callie noticed a slight British accent, and felt her heart swell. She had always loved British accents. She nodded once. She tried to speak, and croaked at first. She cleared her throat, and looked at the doctor. Her eyes widened, and Callie thought she saw a light click on in the doctor's mind.

"Oh! Right! You must be dying of thirst! Excuse me." She held up a finger, and jogged to a bathroom on the far wall. Callie smiled tightly, and chuckled quietly. She liked this doctor. She rememebered her past doctors, and they were all older men. Much older men. She liked the young, pretty girl doctor. She seemed friendly enough.

The doctor came back with a cup of water, and replied, "Sorry 'bout that. I must seem absolutely senseless, just leaving you high and dry." She giggled at the joke she made, and handed Callie the cup. Callie accepted it, struggling to hold her arm up. The doctor must've noticed, and helped Callie hold the cup. "You must be starving, too. You haven't eaten or drank anything in about a week. You're going to need some food for energy."

Callie nodded vigourously. She had just realized how hungry she was. She tried again to speak.

"W-what h-happened?"

"You don't remember?"

Callie shook her head. She tried to move and sit up more, and sharp pains ran up and down her inner thighs and legs. She squealed with pain, and the doctor jumped. "What, what happened?!"

"M-my legs... They hurt, a lot."

"Ah, yes. I expect that would happen..."

"Well, what happened, exactly?"

"Hm... Callie, I need you to tell me what you last remember."

Callie began to be frustrated. Why won't this doctor tell her what happened? She breathed deeply to calm herself, and struggled to remember through a dark fog in her mind. She slightly remembered that she was sitting in a dark room, her bedroom, by herself, but she didn't seem to be by herself. She remembered there wasn't anyone else in the room, but there was the presence of another.
