Him and the Shoes
Well, that was strange. She just disappeared.
After I finished drinking my daiquiri, I noticed that it’s dark outside. So I returned to my hotel room.
The next day, I went outside and enjoyed the sights. I looked around and learned that I am in Myeongdong Street where there are a lot of brand name shops like Bean Pole, Geumgang Shoes Store, Levi’s, and Esquire Shoe Store.
I was walking along the street when I noticed a very pretty pair of stiletto heels. I went inside the store.
As I reach that perfect red stiletto, somebody reached for it at the exact moment. I was able to hold the shoe before him so he caught my hand. When I looked up, I felt something different, like my heart was beating faster than usual. He was staring at me.
“I’m sorry.” He said as he removed his hand off mine.
“It’s okay.” I smiled then looked at the shoe.
“it’s for my sister.”
“Oh, I see.” I looked at him and smiled again.
“By the way, I’m Josh.” He offered me his hand.
I took his hand gave him my name. “Haru.”
The saleslady approached us. She was talking in Korean and the only thing I understood was anyonghaseo (hello).
Josh answered him in Korean and I was amazed. I think he was good and fluent. Then Josh looked at me and said that the saleslady said that it was an only pair.
“Oh! Okay.” I longingly looked at the shoe.
“You could have it.” He said.
“Really?”
“Yeah. See if it fits.” he smiled.
And yes, it does fit perfectly. For a stiletto heeled shoe, it pretty comfortable.
“It does.” I can feel that bliss is radiated on my face. “But what about your sister?”
“There are plenty of shoes here. You can help me choose.”
