Apple tree

Gerard sat on his swings in his back yard. His parents bought him a playground when he was younger and now he's just sitting on the swing, staring off into the distance. Now that he is older he doesn't play on it anymore, but he just sits and swing from time to time.

Gerard was 15 years old and in high school, the kids didn't treat him nice. He would get pick on a lot. People calling him fat, ugly, faggot, emo, and that's only a small portion.

He had his grandmother to help him every time when he came home sad because of the kids, but sadly his grandmother passed. She was Gerard's way to forget reality. She taught him how to draw, sing, and more. She was Gerard's rock.

Gerard did have his younger brother Mikey but he was only 12 right now. (Image 12 year old Mikey tho >_<) So Mikey couldn't really understand what he was going through. He probably didn't even know the definition to the words the kids call him.

Before Gerard knew it he got up and walked back inside. He wanted to get away for awhile. Hopefully if he goes out his bullies wouldn't find him.

"Gerard, where are you going?" Gerard's mother asked as he headed towards the front door.

"I'm going to the forest." Gerard replied. He remembers that he and Mikey would go to the forest and there used to be an apple tree there that they would always clime. The branches were low enough for climbing.

Gerard walked down his street as the fall leafs crunch under his shoes. Fall was one of Gerard's favorite seasons. The way the leafs turn into different colors. Red, yellow, orange, brown, and how sometimes there were hardly any leafs left on the tree. He loved it, one of the best seasons to draw. To capture all the colors, all the shapes, the details, all of it. It was beautiful.

Once Gerard got to the forest he went out looking for the apple tree he grew to have a bond with. Just that area he fell in love it. All of the memories he had with his brother there warmed him to the core.

Mikey was his little brother and his best friend. They were always happy, and had no care for anything. But when things changed at school and his grandmother, Gerard became distant. He some what ignored Mikey after that.

Mikey knew why of course. He didn't blame Gerard though. He thought his brother needed space to find things out. Gerard was thankful for that.

Once Gerard found the tree he stood in front of it and just stared at it. All the memories came back to him. Good and bad ones. He remembers when Mikey fell and got hurt..

Gerard and Mikey were climbing up the apple tree to find some apples to snack on. There mother was just walking around. She said to look at the beauty of the forest. Of course being only six years old he didn't know what that meant and just carried on playing around with Mikey.

"I bet I can clime higher than you Mikey!" Gerard yelled to his brother who was still trying to get to the next branch.

"No way! I'm going to clime higher than you, Gee!" Mikey yelled as he finally grabbed onto the branch. But then..

Snap!

The tree branch snapped, and Mikey went tumbling down. He landed on his back and Gerard panicked. "MIKEY!" Gerard yelled as he rushed to get down from the tree to help his brother.

Once he got down Mikey was crying loudly, yelling at the top of his lungs. "Mikey, are you okay?" Gerard bent down to the side of Mikey.

"No, it hurts!" Mikey wailed and reached out to his brother for a hug. Gerard immediately hugged his brother, and soon enough his mother came to help out.

The time when he met a kid her who just moved to Jersey.

"Race you to the tree Gee!" Mikey yelled as he ran towards the tree. Gerard ran to keep up with his brother Mikey. But once they got to the tree the saw a boy.

"Hello, what are you here for?" Mikey asked without thinking.

"I just moved here from my old house." The boy answered.

"What's your name?" Gerard asked. "I'm Gerard and that's my brother Mikey."

"I'm Frank."

Gerard smiled when he remembered the boy. Frank was a nice kid. He was fun to play with, and he was always so kind, one of the rarest kind of people. Gerard wanted to hold onto him but once he stopped coming to the tree, he never saw Frank again.

Gerard sat down at the base of the tree and looked up at the fresh apples ready to be picked. Some where yellow, red, and some old brown ones. He looked at the ground and saw all the apples that have already fallen and being eaten by bugs.

Gerard wanted to draw it, he loved all the colors and details the tree had.

But then he heard crunching leaves behind him, he knew someone was here to. He was getting more and more scared as the footsteps got closer. But he just ignored it and laid there with his mind racing.

"Hello?" He heard a voice from behind. That voice sounded familiar, but he knew that wasn't possible. He turned his head and saw who's victor it was. It was boy with sort of long bark brown hair, almost black.

"Hi." Gerard says back.

"Who are you? And what are you doing at my tree?" The boy asked.

"Last time I checked this was a public forest so you don't own this tree." Gerard couldn't help but to snap at the boy. He felt bad after when he released he was being mean for no reason.

"Sorry, but no one usual comes over here. So this the first." The walked over to Gerard and looked down at him. "I'm Frank, by the way."

Something clicked in Gerard's mind, this couldn't possibly be the Frank Gerard knew from when that were little. "Frank?" Gerard looks up and he meet Frank's gaze.

"Yeah?.." Frank was confused, he doesn't remember Gerard. All he could think was that some how Gerard knew him.

"It's me.. Gerard."

It clicked, it was Gerard from when he was little.

"Gerard? I haven't seen you since we were little!" Frank as happy he found his old childhood friend, he's never had one. For all he knows is that the could've moved to a new state or something.

"It's nice to meet you again, for like a couple of years." Gerard smiles and gets up and walks up to Frank.

"Yeah, it's nice to meet you again. How's Mikey?" Frank asked.

"He's doing great, getting good grades in school, lucky bastard." Gerard smirked and Frank giggled.
