Savannah sighs, listening to yet another lecture from her mother. "You need to be more careful, and stop going out with the soldiers How many time do I have to tell you that you can get hurt!"
Savannah lets her mother's voice fade into the background as this lecture she has been given to her since she was old enough to swing a sword. She spotted her "shadow" as everyone called him.
"Sebastian!" Her mother gave her a glare and threw her hands up at her stubborn daughter, stalking away in rage as she did so. Sebastian smirked as he glanced at the mistress of the house, fussing at her daughter for no reason. Mistress should know better than to do that because her daughter never listens to Mistress anyways.
"Sebastian! Let's go!" Savannah bounded over to her best friend.
"Mistress? May we go?"
Her mother pauses in her conversation with an guard. "Fine. But Sebastian...stay in the castle and get her to the safe place when you hear them..." Sebastian hesitated, hearing the worry in her voice.
"Is everything okay?" Savannah looks between them and then runs to one of the many windows in the room.
"Mama! There is a army down there! I thought our wall was farther than that."
Her mother pales. "Sebastian! Take her NOW!"
Sebastian doesn't hesitate this time. He grabs a hold of Savannah and brings her to the safest place of the castle. As the pounding increases, his pace does the same. He throws her into the room along with Mistress, who managed to keep up, and leaves the room to make sure no one followed.
"Sebastian!!"
He rushes back to the room, to find the sight of Savannah holding a bloodied Mistress. He bends down to stop the flow of blood and Mistress grabs his wrists and tells him, "Take her to the skretian and stay with her! She will need you later on. Savannah!"
Savannah comes closer, having heard no part of the whispered conversation before. "Take this! Don't argue it's not worth it."
Mistress unclasped her necklace and hands it to her daughter. "Sebastian go now and take this shuyi." She hands him her dagger. "Now!"
He grabs the now sobbing Savannah and goes to the skretian and locks the door with shuyi. He hears a loud shout...sounding like a word of power. Then a bright light, a feeling of floating, then blackness....

She slowly blinked opened her eyes. She sat up, wondering what woke her. She looks around, sees that she isn't in her bed, and the memories come rushing back. "Sebastian!!"
He jerked awake at the sound of his name. The echoes rang off of the stone walls. He looks around and remembers that night, remembers that they are in the skretian, the most protected place in the palace. He stands up slowly, groaning as his body stretches out. He stumbles out of the little room that he was in and shock froze him in place. He started laughing at the sight before him. She was in a white dress, which she hates dresses, and was on a black marble slab. She started glaring daggers at him. "Get me out of here now.", she demanded.
He abruptly stopped laughing. "Wait here as I look around to make sure the coast is clear, Savannah." Sebastian said.
"Fine. But be careful."
