Dedication: This book is dedicated to the only two people I was willing to share this story with before now. Including my amazing co creator, almost 2 years ago we decided we wanted to be manga writers. The manga part never happened, but the story did, obviously. Soon we let one single person read the story we created together and I'm confident in saying Phoenix Ring would be dead without that person. I'm sure you know that since I never seem to write without you telling me to. So thank you both for your ideas and making me write them down on a weekly basis. No matter what happens I know for a fact, we will always have Phoenix Ring.

Life is like a roller coaster, it's starts off slow, but keeps going. Getting faster and faster with plenty of twists and turns, and even more ups and downs

"Three more years." Morgan Shay, an eighteen year old girl was sprawled across the couch in her best friend's basement. She gently blew a purple strand of hair out of her face, attempting to make her restlessness more known.

"What are you talking about." Ivy Bee, a girl the same age barely manage to take her attention away from the TV, but decided to humor her friend.

"Three more years!" Morgan repeated more persistently "Remember we used to say that; three more years, two more years, one more year. Then we would be free. Free from our parents and our pasts. We graduated high school four months ago and we've done nothing to change the status quo."

"What? We have magic; with magic we can do anything. What more could we ask for?"

"Adventure!" Morgan sat up, suddenly full of energy. A smile spread across her face as she continued. "There is really no point of having powers if we never use them. Our abilities are just wasting away."

Ivy turned back to the TV and started clicking on the remote again. "And what do you want to do, join a guild or something?"

"At least it be something, right?"

"I was being sarcastic," Ivy snapped at her, astounded she was even considering it. "Guilds are full of loud mouth drunks and you know it."

"Come on, what happened to the eleven year old girl that ran away from home and hid in my attack for like a week?"

"It would have been longer if you wouldn't have told my mom." Ivy gently pushed Morgan's shoulder.

Morgan pushed her back ."She came to my house crying, I couldn't deal with those kind of emotions. Now come on I'm serious about this let's leave."

"You want me to run away again? Ivy questioned her.

"No, we're eighteen now we can move out."

"Calm down there. How about for now we go on a mini adventure."

Morgan seemed reluctant about the idea. "And what would that entail?"

"We could go downtown and see if we can find the entrance to those old bootlegger tunnels. We've been trying to find them since ninth grade, maybe today's the day."

Somehow Ivy managed to distract Morgan and her adventure talk. Together they walked down the streets of their hometown's previous red light district. All the building where abandoned now, so the girls often went inside them searching for secret tunnels.

"There is still nothing coming up on my map." Morgan had used her powers to scan the area so they could see what was going on underground.

"Ever think it could possibly be, flawed." Ivy gasped sarcastically, while knocking on the walls to hear if they were hollow.

"Don't even joke about that. Nothing I do is ever flawed."

"Oh really, what about the time when-"
