Chapter Two: New Home 1

Lumipas ang oras at tapos na ang trabaho ko. Pauwi na ang lahat pero bago yun ay pumunta muna ako kay boss, mahirap na baka pag dating ko sa apartment ko ay andun pa din ang land lady ko. Alam kong gabi na pero pagdating sa paniningil ng upa mas persistent pa sa persistent yung landlady ko.

"Boss Lerina, Pede po bang makausap ko muna kayo?"

She looked at me with worried eyes as if she already knows what I will say. She nodded her head and pointed her hand to the staff room. "Myles, did you fall behind your rent again?"

"I set aside some money to pay it last time but I also have living expenses so I kind of spend it on that"

I honestly said. Well the money I earn here is enough to cover my living expenses and rent but I also need to earn money to find my mother. I've been depositing half of my salary to the account so that I could have enough money to hire an investigator.

"Myles, do you still not want to live with me? Think about it. It will be more convenient for you too"

Her eyes are full of sincerity but I can't just leach on her. Ayokong maging pabigat, for now my goal is to survive on my own and find my mother. Being a burden to others is not a part of it. She looked at me and understood that I will still reject her offer.

She took her wallet and took nine thousand bills and put it in my hand. I smiled at her with full of sincerity.

"Remember this will be the last time, if you ask again to borrow money I will force you to live with me, I'll be the one taking your things out of your apartment and put it to my house. Remember that Myles" She strictly said, her eyes are so serious that it hard to say that it's a bluff. I nodded my head to respond to her words.

Lumabas na kami ng staff room ng naka akbay siya sa akin and keep whispering words that I should just live with her. This is why I never doubt Lyca and boss are not relatives even the way they threaten people are the same.

"Tara na? Ren would you like to come with us? Mike and Myles will be leaving in the same direction and you and us will be the oppsite direction to them anyway" Lyca who was not bothered by the bitchy attitude of Ren ask him to come with them.

"Sure" Maiksing sagot ni Ren at sumakay na sa kotse nila boss.

"Babye Myles! Take care okay!? I'll see you tomorrow love yah! Babye to you too Mike!"

Lyca's farewell is so loud that I don't want to hear it but still I'm glad someone worries about me. I waved my hand at them and boss had a last look at me before driving away with the two on her car.

"Let's go? Come to think of it this is the third time that we go home together usually you go early"

Pag uumpisa ko ng usapan naming ni Mike. Yup! Pangatlo pa lang naming magkasabay, he is usually busy with his school work and have to leave early.

"Yes, usually kelangan ko umuwi agad para gumawa ng activities at mag review"

"Must be hard for you"

"No it's fine, rather than talking about that may I ask you a question?"

"Yeah sure"

I thought our topic was going smoothly but Mike just changed it, maybe I'm not that fun to talk too.

"Why are you working here?"

Napataas ang kilay ko sa tanong niya, am I not supposed to work here? Am I not worth it? This kid must be looking down on me.
