"He's looking at you again." Alexander gushed, his chin cupped in his palms and a gleeful smile on his lips. I felt my cheeks heat but scoffed, trying to seem indifferent.

"Shut up, he's not," I hissed, though anyone in the cafeteria could notice my blush. Alex nodded frantically, a bubbly giggle slipping past his lips as he grabbed my hand. "He is! Claude, he's got the hots for you, you should ask him out." I started choking on my grape after that last part, yanking my hand from his grip.

"Are you crazy? I'd be killed, he's higher on the food chain than us Alex, I wouldn't try." I must've been a living tomato by that point, Alex's laughter sky-rocketed again as I found any excuse to get him to close his mouth.

Suddenly, his laughter seized, and he leaned in real close. "If you don't ask out Kyle, you have to ask out Jeff."

I physically winced at his words, glancing quickly at the boy at hand. He was slumped over, sitting a few tables away with his 'friends', whom he only stayed with to not be alone, I was sure. He happened to look over the moment I did, I gave a fake smile to make it not seem so awkward, but it wasn't returned. Once I faced my best friend again, I whined and nudged him.

"You wouldn't really make me, right? You're so cruel!"

His laughter returned and he clung to my arm. "Uh-huh! Now go ask him, or I'll tell Jeffery you're totally into him!"

Of course, I stood up, walking shyly toward Kyle's table. It's not like I hated Jeff, he was just ... Weird. No one in the school was really close to him, and he gave off a creepy vibe from time to time. Some people made fun of him, and I guess I did too, as much as I didn't want to say it. I knew it was wrong to bully him, I'm sure he'd be a pretty sweet guy if I got to know him. But that'd ruin me, not that I had much to ruin.

My social group only consisted of Alexander and a few of my girlfriends, but I still had standards. As I had gotten lost in thought, I realized Kyle wasn't even at his table anymore. I blushed from embarrassment, turning to walk back to Alex before I realized Kyle had beat me to it. I could hear his words clearly, but everything seemed foggy when it settled in.

"Yo, Alex..? I was wondering.. If you'd wanna go to prom with me."

I was frozen in place, eyes wide and fingers linked in front of me. I stared helplessly, not a hint of emotion in my features as Alex didn't seem to know what to say.

I knew both Alex and I had a thing for Kyle, but we were both sure he was straight as a rail. Oh well, I guess no guy can really be so straight around Alexander. He was pretty damn attractive, as I've told him many times. My 'Good Friend' mode switched on and I quickly slid into my seat beside Alex.

"He'd love to!"

Alexander seemed just as surprised as I was, and Kyle just looked fairly happy. He told him he'd pick him up and fled back to his table.

Once he was preoccupied, Alex threw his arms around me and I felt tears swell up. He apologized profusely, and I only waved him off, a few streaks falling down my cheeks.

"I'll survive, shut up, I'll just go with someone else." I promised, but the tears in my eyes said something entirely different.

I looked over, and Jeff was watching the entire episode.

God, what a creep.

Ahhhhhhh, I know I just started the JaneJeff thing, but I don't think that one will work out very well, so here's this!
