Chapter 1
It's all such a blur i've been picked at the reaping to be district 5s female tribute for the 73rd hunger games. I'm only 13 my parents look at me with pleading eyes at all the older girls. No volunteers. I don't blame them. I hate the games I never watched them on tv until they announce the victor. Usually
Careers but some odd 7th, 8th, 6th and 5th. Some districts are unfortunate.
I walk up to the stage and Maddie says the name of the male victor, I don't know the boy and I didn't catch his name but we entered the justice building, my parents wern't the first to see me it was Violet a girl that I hadn't seen in ages. She was an old victor but we were good friends, mostly because I got bullied a lot. I still do.
"Oh, Cassia. My god what are the odds" She said.
We both laughed.
"I guess the odds aren't in my favour huh," I say, laughing slightly.
"I want to ask you to do two very important thing ok listen to me now."
"Ok,"
"One, make the games funny. People will love you that's why the gamemakers won't focus on you so much. Plus people will love you because you're absolutely adorable but two, win!"
I was about to speak when it was time up.
My parents came in hugged me then left. They didn't really care for me anyways.
Me and the boy got on the train and I didn't come out of my room till we got to the Capitol, not even to eat. Though the boy did come in and bring me a cup of tea every meal time.
We entered the stadium centre were the stylists got us cleaned up.
I have to say i did have a few drugs so I looked tinged green.
It hurt so much all that eyebrow plucking and leg waxing but I did enjoy the make-up and my parade outfit. I didn't know what I was thinking because I do hate the games.
We got on our chariots and the horses road off one by one till all twelve chariots were out. Every Capitol person in there were screaming and cheering I had to admit I did get a headache.
It all went quiet when
President Snow spoke.
