Finals

It was nearing the end of the school year and I was studying like my life depended on it... It sure did. I have finals this week. My parents decided to motivate me by giving me two options, one being I do well in school, get at least a 3.8 GPA for this semester and enjoy my summer to the fullest, or, I was free to flunk finals and spend my whole summer locked in my room preparing for next year.

I really have to prepare because I'll be going to Denver, Colorado halfway through the summer. To go and visit the coolest old people I know. It won't be too great though if I'm forced to study all day while there are beautiful, hikable mountains just outside my window.

That, however, was the second part of my summer. The first part hadn't even really begun yet. Assuming my finals are successful and I keep my 3.9, I will be spending the last day of finals at CentennialBeach (the popular, local artificial beach that's very close to my high school). I discretely couldn't wait, because this year I've decided to try bikinis. I'll be a Junior next year and my friends have been bothering me about my one piece. No longer. I found the perfect one. I feel really confident in it and I know my friends will like it too.

I'm now on my way to my 3rd and last day of finals. Even though it's supposed to be the easiest for me, the grades for the other ones, the harder ones, haven't been posted just yet.

I had my bikini on under my clothes and I couldn't be more anxious for those grades to be posted.

I did it! I passed with flying colors! I got descent As on all of them except of course history, but that was a high B at least. I quickly got my phone out and texted my friends who were going with me to Centennial.

I DID IT!!! I can go with u kids to Cent.!!

I now rushed to meet them all at the agreed spot and they practically knocked me over!

"You're ours for the summer Sam!!" said Sarah my best friend from school.

"Yeah!! Hun, I honestly can't wait to get to the beach." I said back as we jogged over to her car.

On the way I ran into Justin, my best guy friend from school.

"SAM!! How'd you do???"

"Justin!!! I made it! Just one B son!" The thing about Justin is that he used to like me. I'm actually not even sure that he ever stopped, but he seemed okay when I had said no to him when he asked me on a date. It's not that he isn't a fantastic individual. It's just that I really need to focus on school and sports. I plan on being voted in as Captain of the Tennis team next year and there's no way that's going to happen if I'm not one of the best on the team.

"That's amazing! I told you you'd be fine. It's me we should be worrying about. Haha."

"Justin... what's wrong? How did you do?" I could see a slight frown on his face, one of which he quickly masked.

"It's nothing, I just didn't get grades up to my parents' limit." His parents were rich business people that had pretty high standards for him. I felt terrible that he just couldn't meet them all. His parents had the same conditions as mine.

"I'm so sorry to hear that. We can hang out later this week and I can help you get started on your studying okay? Maybe I can find a way to make it less boring." I said with a smile. That was part of a promise we made if either one of us, or both for that matter, failed. "I have to go now though. Centennial. Are you sure you don't want to join?"

"That would be jolly. You know how I feel about that place though..." I almost forgot that he didn't like bodies of water. He was pretty insecure about his body. I gave him a peck on the cheek and off I went.
