Chapter 12(part 2)

I sit in the bed trying to process what just happen to me. August was right there too. He was sleep in the chair right next to my bed. There was a knock on the door. August woke up and cleared his throat.
"Come in" he yelled
A doctor walked in with a chart sheet.
"Hello Miss. McBroom."
"Hi"
"We have your test result and your insides are ok, but you are going to have a hard time filing this as rape."
"Why is that", August busted in.
"Well sir, there are signs of force but.."
"But what?", august spat
"There isn't any evidence, like semen."
"That's some bullshit!" August spat again.
"Well I'm sorry ma'am and sir, that's all I can do."
The doctor looked at me and then left the room. I looked at my wrists and they were bruised. The memory of what happened came back to me. I shed a tear. The monster that did this to me won't get the justice he deserves. He hurt me to the point I don't really know myself anymore. There was knocking at the door again
"Come in." August calmly said.
"Hello I'm the nurse and I have your discharge papers."
"Why is she leaving so early?"
I looked at August and he looked back at me then back at the nurse.
"Well we did all we could sir."
August rubbed his face and sighed.
"Thank you ma'am."
"You welcome", the smiled and said.
August signed the papers and handed them back to the nurse and took a deep breath and let it out. I sat up on the bed and August just looked at me.
"I'm so sorry Kelia. I really am sorry."
I just looked at him and nodded my head.
"This is all my fault Kelia I shouldn't have got mad at you or none of the petty shit I did just to make you jealous. I should have been a man and talk to you. But me being me I lead you straight to a rapist."
I sat there just listening to what he has said. I'm not angry with him, I'm really not. I'm scared to go home though. Matter fact , I'm petrified to go home.

"Umm August?", I mumbled.
"Yea."
"Can I stay with you for a minute?"
"Of course baby girl."
"And please don't call me that."
"What?"
"Baby g-girl."
I looked at him and I could already tell he understood what I was saying. He got up and hugged me really tight. He grabbed my jacket and put it on me. Then he gently picked me up and carried me out the room.
