Kasey's POV
I carried the last of my boxes into my one bed dorm and sat down on the floor to unpack. That's when I heard the music playing next door. It was loud and sounded kind of cool, but I wasn't a fan of the volume. So I got up and walked across the hall and banged on the door. When it opened smoke poured out into the hall and the music only grew louder. I was about to speak when I saw the figure standing before me. He was tall with soft black hair with a tattoo on his neck.
"What..." He spoke deeply almost annoyed without even knowing me. "I uh, can you turn down your music and you do know you can't smoke in here." I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear trying not to make eye contact. He scoffed and walked over to his stereo and turned it down. "First of all its not even smoke, and the music is down are you happy?" I finally looked at him with that smug grin on his perfect face. Wait what...bad brain, no! "Thank you?" I tried to keep a steady tone but for some reason I felt vulnerable and small. He laughed and spun on his heels away to his bed leaving the door open as I stand there. "So where do you live, if you can hear my music?" He asked sounding as if he actually wanted to know. "I uh live right over there." I gestured behind me to my own open door and he leaned forward to follow my hand.
"Cool." He said briefly while lying back on his bed. I stood there for a moment admiring him. Wait no...oh my god what is wrong with me! "Well I'm gonna just go." I say nervously as I quickly step away running to my room.
Why, why me, couldn't he live across from some other girl, couldn't he just not exist. I know he's gonna be bad news but I wanna know him. Is that such a bad thing, to know someone isn't much just a memory. That's all he'll be...a memory.
