Not Alone

Here you are, reading this from beyond a screen which no one can reach you.

This screen is white. Upon this white screen are artificially made words and shapes to pull you in. You didn't come here on purpose. You came here because of your curiosity.

You're eyes are scanning the words formed together to create a sentence, and are probably trying to find an alternate meaning behind this. You probably even skipped ahead to make sure you were going to see a secret, or find yourself pulled into a story of a mighty pirate, or vampires and monsters, or even demons.

But there is nothing but you reading these words.

You are probably sitting alone or with a friend, in your home, or even at school. You're probably even walking around or heading to a destination where one couldn't guess where.

You probably feel alone too.

Despite the warmth around you created by another or even the warm thoughts that even warm your heart thinking of another. You still probably feel alone.

And you aren't.

You are actually linked to the world.

Somewhere, someplace, far away from where you are, or even right next to you, there is someone reading this, probably not at the same time, but possibly in the same second, minute, hour, or even day. These words have linked you with many others like you. You have been linked together by these words and are probably thinking the same way everyone else is thinking.

"That's not true. It can't be."

But it is.

You are linked together by the beats, the sounds of the world, the words you whisper, the thoughts you think, and every pixel running along the screen you are reading these words upon. You are linked, and therefore not alone.

You are never alone.

And you never were.
