I awaken in a place I don't know. I'm laying in a big empty green field, not sure where to go or what to do. It's beautiful here, yes, but I don't want to be here. I want to be home, on my planet. I look up at the sky, hoping they'd come back for me. The sun burns my eyes to a close, but I try to force them open. I curl into a ball wishing for my father to save me, but I know there is no returning to my home. It's not safe, and it never will be again. I start to weep. I lay on the wretched earth drowning in misery. I'm so caught up in my own despair that I don't even realize something approaching me. No, not something. Someone. I quickly get up and start to run. Although I know I shouldn't, I take the risk to get a look behind me. That's when I stumble to a fall. I look around frantically and notice he's now in front of me. Yes, a he. I am nothing but stone.

"Why'd ye run lassie?" The strange man asked.

There was something strange about his voice. He had an accent I couldn't quite place. I look at him, too stunned to even speak. He was gorgeous. You could see his lean muscles through his shirt, and he had a strong jaw. Sharp enough to slice your finger on. He had short black curly hair, and deep sea blue eyes. He was jaw dropping.

"We'll?..." He asked pulling me back.

"Y-you scared me."

"Don't be scared lass, you can trust me. What's yer name?"

Skye. My name is Skye I wanted to say, but the words wouldn't come out.

"That's alright, you can tell me when you're ready. My name is Evander, it's nice to meet ye! Would you care to come with me?"

I think I may have said yes, because we started walking.

Here's the thing. I am not normal. I come from a place called Starka, a planet so far and hidden in space, that no one knows of it's existence. I now live on a planet humans call Earth in a country named Scotland. I must not trust anyone, no matter what they say or who they may be. This is all I know, all I was told. To humans, I am not normal for reasons unknown to me. Although I look almost exactly like them, there is one difference. I have millions of stars tattooed onto my body. Thier not noticeable unless you look really closely. They are like little freckles splayed out all over my body. It's how we tell humans and my kind apart. We call ourselves Starks. I'm getting ahead of myself though, lets start from where it all began. My home.

It started out as an okay day for me. I had just finished reading a new book my father had retrieved for me on one of his missions. He always brought me book after book, and I always managed to finish them in one sitting. I guess you can say that I'm a book addict. I love to read. I find all the stories completely captivating. They are all different in their own way of course. I guess my love for reading is just the fact that it's unbelievable to me how one person can go on such crazy adventures, and survive. It gives me hope that father will always return home safely from his missions. Maybe not completely unscathed, but alive.
He didn't always go on missions though. It all started when my mother died. I was only five years old when my father just stopped showing up. I'm not quite sure how my mother passed, I just know that every time I brought it up, my father would storm out of the room. I came to the conclusion that the missions had some tie to my mother's death. I tried looking into it once by following my father. I made it as far as the steps to his hovercraft, but I was always stopped. I was never that sneaky.
I gave up after my father almost blew up our living space from complete anger due to my disobedience to stay put in my room, surruounded by the company of my books. I think that's why he's always given them to me. To keep me occupied. Although that plan of his worked, I never pushed her death aside. I mean, how could I? I'll always be curious.
Which is why I ended up where I am today. Earth.

I quietly fell into step behind the man named Evander. Evander, what a peculiar name. I had many questions, one major one was how he found me. Who is he, and where does he tie into all of this? My mind was reeling with endless possibilities. He could be the people I'm suppose to stay stay away from. Steer clear of. I was told not to trust anyone, and it's clear that my life may depend on it. I thought about running, but I remembered how that turned out the first go round. Not a possible chance.
We continued walking through the field. Once we reached the end, we approached two crazy looking creatures. They were huge and they had four legs almost half the size of me, and a body the size of my little twin size bed at home. It made a ruffling noise, and I backed away in alarm.

"What's wrong lass?" Evander asks.

"What are those things?" He looked at me as if I were the crazy one.

"Why, they're horses. You've never seen a horse before?"
I shook my head no, eyes bulging.

"We ride them. Were going to head south to the castle to get some supplies. Don't worry lass, they don't bite."

I was frightened. I had no idea who this guy was, and I was about to ride some beast to this castle? I don't think so. I can't trust this guy, no matter how captivating he was. I turned on my heel to walk off. I was stopped by Evander pulling me by my elbow.

"What are you doing? I know you may be scared of the horses, but you won't get there any faster on foot."

"What are you doing?" I demanded. "I don't even know who you are. You're a stranger, and where I'm from, we don't just welcome strangers with open arms and follow them on beast through a forest of woods to get to a castle."
I yanked my elbow from his grip and he almost seemed startled, but composed himself. I tried walking off again and adding a little pep in my step, but he ran up to walk beside me. He just wouldn't give up.

"Hey there lassie, I was just trying to help. By the looks of how I found you, you're lost. I don't mean to be rude, but you're coming with me whether you like it or not. I'm not just going to let ye wander on your own. I'm the type of person that helps. That's who I am, so lets go.

I didn't even oblige. A hot guy wanting to help me? I'd take that any day, even if it could be my last.

"Lead the way."
