"No no! Its fine I swear! I don't think I'm doing anything that day anyways!" I reassured my friend, Kate,

"Are you sure? I don't want to overwhelm you too much," she replied.

"No, I don't think it'll overwhelm me. And either way, your shift isn't that long anyways."

Kate and I were sitting in a Subway, one of the many places we like to meet for lunch, and discussing our shifts for next Thursday at TCBY, where both of us work. Next Thursday was a big day for TCBY, and our boss wanted both of us to be there. Unfortunately, Kate was going to be out of town, so I offered to take her shift.

"Well thank you so much Savanna for doing this. I couldn't ask for a better friend," she said as she smiled and flipped her hair over her shoulder.

Kate was a very pretty girl. She had long, silky blonde hair that reached her waist. I had brown, ombre hair that went a little past my chest. I had blue eyes while she had green. I was on the shorter side while she was very tall with very long legs. I was really jealous of that.

"No problem. Oh and what are you even doing on a Thursday anyways?" I asked.

"I have to babysit my neighbor's kids, and believe me, I would much rather scoop ice cream then play with Barbie dolls and read about princesses all day," she said with an annoyed look on her face.

I laughed at the thought and continued to listen to Kate complaining for a few more minutes before getting a text from my mom telling me to come home to get ready for my graduation party later tonight, which everyone in the 12th grade is going to be invited to. I was excited to be hosting it, but I wasn't so happy about preparing for it.

"So I'll see you tonight, right?" I asked Kate as we walked out the door.

"Of course! You know I wouldn't miss it for anything," she said with a smile.

After what seeming like hours of cleaning and setting up, I was finally done.

"YESSSSSSSSSS!" I screamed as I ran around the large deck outside the house, being careful not to knock down any of the chairs that were set up around a soon-to-be fire. I ran back inside and up two flights of stairs to my room. I guess you could say my house was pretty big. That really was only because my family inherited a lot of money on my dad's side, and my parents had well-paid jobs. But I didn't take any of this for granted because who knows what could happen.

After I decided to change into a white peplum dress with black wedges, I headed downstairs to make sure everyone in my house was gone. My parents both decided to take themselves and my younger brother and sister to a nearby hotel for the night just so I could have my own party without any distractions, and so they could sleep tonight.

As I was making sure the cooler was full and the drinks inside were cold, I heard the doorbell chime. I checked the clock and wondered why someone would be coming at 8 when the party started at 9. I walked to the front door and opened it to find a smiling Kate and... Jason?

"Oh my gosh guys! You're an hour early!" I said with a smile. I invited them inside and gave Kate a hug and Jason a kiss. Jason has been my boyfriend for about four years now, ever since we started high school. My parents have known his parents for such a long time and they basically forced us to be together. I honestly probably wouldn't have batted an eyelash at him before, but now I guess you could say he's perfect for me. Or at least that's what my parents think.

"Wow Savanna, you've really outdone yourself haven't you! All of these decorations! It looks even fancier than it did before!" Kate exclaimed as she took a tour of the first floor.

"Thanks! And just so you know, the third floor is off limits. My parents really don't want anyone going inside of their room if you know what I mean," I said, exchanging a smile with Jason. Last year, I walked in on jKate in my parent's bedroom. The funny thing was that she was just asleep from stealing one too many drinks from my parent's liquor cabinet. The story is still hilarious, to me and Jason at least.

"Shut up! I was really tired and I thought it was your room!" she exclaimed, storming into the kitchen.

Jason, Kate, and I all sat around and talked and joked around until guests started to arrive.

My other friends from school were the second to arrive, with other people in my grade that I didn't even know the names of. People kept coming in in groups of four or so. I decided to put my music on shuffle and turned it up so that it blasted through the speakers.

All of a sudden, at least six teenage boys stormed through the door. I recognized the few that I could see and let out a loud sigh. I was hoping they wouldn't show up.

"Well, Savanna. I have to say you've done a good job yet again. And I'm glad you've decided to invite me and my friends this time," the tallest one, Austin, said with a sly smile.

"I only invited you because I had to invite the whole grade," I snapped, glaring at him.

"Well I appreciate it anyways. Come on boys. Let's get this party started!" Austin said, giving me a smirk as he walked by. The rest of his friends followed, all except one.

This boy had dirty blonde hair, with Ray Bans (inside?), a white t-shirt, a pair of skinny jeans on, and a pair of shoes that looked really expensive. I have to admit, he didn't look that bad, even without being able to see his face.

"And who are you?" I snapped at him, still aggravated at Austin and his little posse.

"I'm sorry that I came without an invite, but I was invited by Austin," he said with a fairly thick Irish accent.  Accent? In Florida?

"Well I never told Austin he was allowed to bring friends, but I guess since you're already here I can't kick you out even if I wanted to," I said, softening up a little. "But I think you should know that Austin isn't the best guy to be friends with." I said, only half joking.

Austin and his friends are always getting themselves into trouble. At one of my parties last year, he got totally wasted and almost tried to rape me. Fortunately, Jason was nearby and came to my rescue. I'm hoping Austin won't try to pull another one of his stunts again. That's the last thing I want to worry about.

"I'll make sure to remember that," he said, smiling and walking across the room towards a table with chicken, ribs, wings, and stuff I haven't even looked at yet.

I smiled to myself, only realizing that I never got his name. I guess I'll have to hope I run into him again I thought. Wait no. Why would I want to run into him again? I have a boyfriend for heaven's sake!

And with that I headed to the deck outside to try to find Jason.
