LIAM'S POV
I turned on the television to Triple H aka Hollywood’s Hottest Hits. Lisa Michelle was confirming and denying the rumors about all the celebrities. This channel was the only channel that actually told the truth about us celebrities. The part I liked the most was the NBT segment. Lisa always talked about the top 10 artists who were the Next Big Thing.
As always, our songs were number one. I smirked at the television as Justin Bieber came up as number six. He’s starting to lose his “swag”. I looked down at my phone as it buzzed. The caller ID said Danielle. I smiled at her name. She’s been my girlfriend for the last six months, but we were hooking up on the down low for nearly eight. She’s beautiful, loud, and a great dancer. The only thing is that she can be a bitch..as in a major bitch. Danielle doesn’t really care about anything except getting what she wants. She thinks she’s the greatest thing to walk the planet and treats everyone else like she’s a peg below her. But she’s a great kisser and good for sex, so I really don’t care.
Her text read, “Hey baby, can’t wait to see you next week when I get back from Austria. We can have so much fun ;) xoxo Danny”.
Just as I was about to thumb out a reply, I heard Lisa’s voice from the television.
“And number two on the charts is One Direction with their new hit single, Together Forever!”
I watched in shock as part of our music video played. My face came up when my solo came up. One Direction has always been number one for as long as I could remember. I can’t believe we came in at number two this time.
What was next shocked me even more. My mouth dropped open and my phone slipped from my hand.
“And coming in at number one, making her debut with her single She’s So Gone, Alicia Preston!”
Her face filled the screen and her harmonic voice enveloped the room in a pop rock song. It was catchy and upbeat. I couldn’t believe I was seeing her again after 4 years even if it was just on the television.
She looked different somehow…more mature. Her hair was no longer curly, but straight with blonde highlighted tips. Gone was her shy, timid smile and it was replaced by a confident, knowing grin. She definitely wasn’t a little girl anymore. I could hear my own heartbeat as I thought about that last day I saw her. The way her face broke down when I said I was leaving, or how anger flashed in her beautiful eyes as I told her she was holding me back. Her face came up on the screen and her eyes had a sultry look, as they seemed to stare right back at me. Alicia Preston, my childhood best friend was now a spontaneous, beautiful woman.
Now all I have to do is see her again. I smirked, picked up my phone, and called the boys and our manager. I know exactly what to do.
ALICIA'S POV
“ALICIA! ALICIA! OVER HERE!” A photographer was calling my name. I turned around to see dozens of photographers rush to where I was standing. I really need to get used to that, I thought as my bodyguard blocked the paparazzi from trampling me. We pushed past them and I tried to maintain a confident smile even if I felt anything but that. The other bodyguard opened the door to my limo and I quickly got in. Then soon enough we were on the highway heading to Hollywood Jam recording studio.
I couldn’t believe I was finally a star. After four years of waiting tables, making coffee, and dealing with all of my pain and suffering, I was finally living my dream. Just as I wanted to since I was a kid. Too bad it couldn’t be with Liam though, that small irritating voice came back in my head. I scowled at Liam’s name. That bastard left me all alone after I was always there for him. He didn’t even call on my birthday.
I quickly pushed him out of my head and played with the big white-gold bracelet that adorned my wrist. Who cares, I didn’t need him anymore. I found my fame without his help. I’m the biggest star in Hollywood. Bigger than One Direction. I’m not the same little girl when Liam last saw me 4 years ago.
The limo came to a stop in front of Hollywood Jam where more paparazzi were waiting for me. I looked down to make sure I looked camera ready. Of course I did. My personal stylist dressed me in $200 skinny jeans, a $400 baby blue halter-top, and $250 pair of Ray Ban sunglasses. Probably the most expensive clothing I’ve ever worn. Instead of wearing cheap Wal-Mart clothes, I’m wearing designer brand apparel.
I got to the elevator in one piece and it whisked me up to the 100th floor. I walked to the door at the end and found my savior standing there looking over the buttons with Trey, the “record master”.
My savior looked up at me and smiled. “You ready to record another hit single?” She said with as much confidence as any of us stars.
I smiled and nodded. It was still hard to believe this was real. Let alone having my “savior” be the one and only Kelly Clarkson. She wasn’t that tall though, so I stood four inches taller than her at my five foot ten inch height.
She pulled out her phone and dialed a number. “Yeah, go ahead send him up to the last door on the right. Alicia’s here and ready.” She hung up and spoke to me, “He’s on his way up.”
Kelly liked mystery apparently. She wouldn’t tell me who this mystery person was that I got to sing with. I hoped it was someone good.
The door opened and Chris Brown walked through the door. My mouth dropped open as one of my favorite singers came and hugged me. I would get to sing with Chris Brown? I love Chris Brown!
Kelly laughed at my response and said, “Chris has agreed to sing a song with you and wants you to be apart of his new song and music video She Ain’t You. After you’re done recording here, you’ll be going with him to film his music video.”
Chris Brown put his arm around my shoulders and said, “By the end of the week, you’ll be one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.”
I smiled at both of them. That’s exactly what I wanted.
