Alien Breed: Impact

Introduction

It had been ten years that the war with Kronos had lasted. Ten long bloody years and finally it was over. Earth and Kronos had signed a peace treaty, the Treaty of Zeus. Theodore J Conrad had served on Earth's Galactic Marine Corps. He had been known as a lethal weapon because no matter what battle he was apart of, he'd always brought victory and glory. But it ended, when his squad was ambushed during the final battle. He was stabbed in the leg and was sent home and thanks to him, the war was over. But for Conrad that was nearly five years ago. The injury of his leg didn't last long thanks to the discovery of the new healing agent. Earth and Kronos still did business with one another and became great allies.

In 2121, the Leopold was assigned on a trade mission to Kronos and Conrad volunteers and became the Chief of the engineering corp. The trade goes well and lasts for an hour in earth's time. Once the final crates were placed in storage of the Leopold, it's sets course back to earth.  During the trip home Conrad was in his room trying to some sleep but the memory of his family haunted him. At 3:31 Galactic Standard, Conrad's door console had notified that someone was outside his room.  He presses the button to respond to the notification and says:

" Who's there?"

"Lieutenant Mia," was the response.

Opens the door and allows Mia to enter his room.

"Yea," says Conrad.

"I wanted to speak with you," says Mia.

Up on the bridge of the Leopold, the warning system was triggered,

"Gravitational anomaly detected, warning."

Back in Conrad's room,

"Conrad why do you hate synthe," said Mia.

The Leopold had collided with the unknown anomaly and piece of debris was about to hit Conrad but Mia jumped and pushed him out the way saving his life, but taking the hit. Conrad was knock out for a brief moment, he could hear footprints and when he opened his eyes, he saw Mia's hand and her standing above him.

"Can you walk" asked Mia.  She helps him up.

"We hit something.... you, you saved me" said Conrad.

"Indeed, not much gets by you Chief Engineer," replies Mia.

Mia starts to leave Conrad's room but Conrad was starring at the picture of his family.

"Come on," said Mia.

"WAIT," yells Conrad

He picks up the picture that was damaged from the crash, looks at it for a brief moment, throws it in the trash, opens his drawers and pulls out the engagement ring that his wife wore, and a pistol and follows Mia out of the room.

"I need to get to the bridge to see how dead we are," says Mia.

Conrad puts his hand on Mia's shoulder and says:

"What about the envoys.... the trade mission?"

"Their probably all dead, the upper levels have torn to pieces," says Mia.

"Maybe I can help," says Conrad.

"Negative, head to the main reactor and shut it down before it overloads, if it does everyone on this ship is dead, stay in radio contact and be careful," says Mia giving Conrad his mission.

"Keep us alive," says Conrad.

And Conrad is off to save the Leopold but will he save it in time? His fight for survival and the survival of the Leopold and her crew are in his hands.
