{Prologue}

     Whenever something dark and black happens, everyone want to shut it out. Close it in a box and keep it locked. Turn their head and act like it never happen. Ha... guess that's where I went wrong. Ever had a close family member killed. Or lost some really close friend. Maybe even let someone who meant the most to you slip between your fingers? Everyone says you never know what you had till you lost it, yet the real fact is you never thought you would lose it.

~Autumn morning~

     Feet in cool crystal water sitting on a stone with coy fish swimming up and down stream, crisp wind in sign in winter is close, forest tree leaves in the color of fire. She was watching the river as birds fly low, thinking:  Ah the peaceful forest... my place to me. Looking up at the sky while the clouds slightly cover the sun. Smell of fresh dew on the grass as the low rays of sun light it up in glistening sparkles. Best place to let thoughts roam free.

     One gun shot is heard as the birds scatter for the sky, listening deeply in shock. Please... no... Still no noise and stomach is in a deep knot. Why... Ow... Please no... With in seconds feet trample the ground, speeding faster, trees becoming a blur, head pounding while commanding feet to pick up the pace.

Million scenarios running over and over in her mind while coming up on the worse nightmare that was never imagined. Sitting in own pool of blood, chocking on her own blood. Or cut and left, drowned in her own blood by the minor wounds scarring her body with a single shot through her skull. Just like her only copy, one of blood and love. Her twin brother with one shot through the temple. Laying in the dead silence of the woods.

How...? Who would? This isn't right! Eyes flashing red. Danger! Quickly finding a knife, as a heard of stomping mad men, dashing for the road and towards the city.  She pocketed the weapon, just in case this all came down to a fight. Must get there. Must run faster! Need help! Five more miles. While getting closer to town, these mad men are gaining.

But as we all know, they are not the only ones who are mad. We all are a little mad now aren't we?

Guns are fired and there is a small house sitting out side of town. The shots echoing down the road as someone runs out of the door with their own gun in hand, still too far away for her to see if they would be a friend or foe.

Her straight black hair was wound at the nape of her neck, though tendrils whipped across her face as she tried to run faster and faster towards that house. She risked a look back at those chasing her, and her silver eyes widened in fear.

Standing there in the open door way was an angel. Okay, maybe not your drop-dead, oh-my-God-he has-wings, perfectionist angel, but he was about a close to one as she needed. His six foot lean frame rested against the wood paneling. Black hair was messy and giving him a dangerous feel as his ocean blue eyes glared at everyone in his yard.

He shouted, his voice making her tremble almost just by the sheer anger of it all. "Back. Away. From. The. Girl." Each word was well punctuated and unrelenting. The mad men never backed down, never even hesitated for a second at the view of the dangerous angel's not-hidden-in-the-slightest pistol.

"HELP ME! They--" Just at the words of 'help me,' he took fire at them. Putting each one of them down with only one shot to each. Good shooter, trustworthy or untrustworthy, is yet to be decided. Never thought I'd see an angel quite like this though.

     She stopped in the dead on the street, collapsing to knees on the rough dirt road, in need of breath and reality check. Brother's dead, parents were hunted and killed, house now deemed unsafe. WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING! Where am I going? What am I doing? Who were those men? Questions were like a whirlwind in the girl's head.
