Chapter 1

NATSU'S POV

Igneel told me once when I was a kid about the mating season. All I can remember him saying since I wasn't paying any attention is that Dragon Slayers will know when they find a mate because they will go into heat for them when they are constantly close to you.

You will become hot as well as cold when you get a scent of them, you feel a weird sensation go through your body because of the attraction you have for your future mate.

The problem with Dragon Slayers having a mate is, that when your mate dies, you die. Since a Dragon Slayer makes a bond with their mate when they make a permanent bite mark on their neck, that's what seals their fate. So, avoid dying or help your mate avoid dying unless you are in a dire situation. (obviously)

Also, Dragon Slayers can have a mate that is also a Dragon Slayer it's just that the bond will be stronger and so will the attraction. Having two Dragon Slayers mate is very interesting since that has never happened before in Dragon Slayer history.

But if it does, they will have a very strong bond and attraction to each other and will most likely get possessive of the other and attempt to keep people away.

That's why it's never happened before. Until today. It all started at Fairy Tail as two mages were fighting over the last piece of the pie.

Natsu's POV
Like always, Gray and I were fighting, but today it was the stupidest reason to fight. We're fighting over the last piece of Mira Jane's delicious pie.

I glare at Gray and quickly grab the pie and growled at him. "You can't have this pie! I haven't had the chance to eat any yet because Erza ate the rest!" Gray snatches the pie out of my hands.

"No flame-brain, I'm going to eat this piece of pie! I haven't had any either!" I growl and try to snatch it back out of his hands.

Then out of nowhere, Gajeel appears at my shoulder and reaches over me and grabs the pie, and shoves the whole thing in his mouth, swallowing it whole.

We both gasp and then I realize how close Gajeel is to me and my face starts to heat up. What's wrong with me? Why does my face feel so hot? It's just Gajeel, he does this all the time. But why now?

I finally realize that today starts the mating season and a light in my head clicks. No way...

I shove Gajeel off my shoulder and hold both of his cheeks until his piercing ruby eyes are staring deeply into my golden ones.

"W-What's wrong with you, Salamander?" Gajeel slightly stutters. Everyone in the guild stops what they're doing and stares at us.

No one's POV
"What is Natsu doing? I've never seen him this intense before," Lucy says while leaning on the counter in front of Mira Jane.

"I don't know, but I have a strange feeling I know what he's doing..." Mira Jane says with a smile creeping onto her face.

Lucy just shrugs and keeps her gaze on the two dragon slayers, wondering what's going to happen next.

Natsu's POV
Back to me and Gajeel, I stare into his eyes and feel a strong hand wrap around my back and lightly shiver at the touch on my lower back which is always exposed because of how short my vest is.

Gajeel goes wide-eyed and realizes that I've gone into heat because of him and smirks. He pushes me off him and picks me up bridal style and walks out of the guild to his house.

He kicks the front door of his house open and sees Lily jump, startled at the sudden movement.

Lily just watches as Gajeel takes me up the stairs and into his room. He throws me onto his surprisingly soft bed, shuts his door, locks it, and walks over to me with a smirk on his face.
