What Were You Thinking?!

"Foods ready!" Doug yelled.
Eclipse grabbed Kayla and pulled her down the hallway, tripping drake down the stairs.
"That's wasn't very nice," Makalyla pointed out.
"Come on!" Eclipse said doing a front flip over drake and Kayla just stepped over him.
Drake came sprinting after eclipse and pulled her by her hood to slow her down.
"Haha!" Drake laughed.
"I'm gonna get you!"
They both turn the corner. Eclipse gets ahead and grabbed the jar of marbles and rolled them on the ground causing drake to fall.
"You just been home aloned freak!"
They both were neck and neck, that got to the diner table and grabbed a whiteboard and the marker. They read the card that was in front them. They both started writing aggressively on the board.
"101.101!" Eclipse yelled.
"Correct," Doug said,
"What just happened?!" Kayla asked,
Doug handed eclipse 5 dollars.
"I just got 5 dollars, better luck next time dumbo." Eclipse said.
"I had the answer but you said it first!" Drake said showing eclipse the board.
"Anyway, everyday at lunch dad has a problem that could a riddle, math, or anything. The person who get the answer first gets 5 bucks." Eclipse said waving the money in the air.
"Eclipse, drake, you have a lot of cleaning up to do around the house. And make sure you don't have any bruises." Evie said.
"Dad what did you make?" Drake asked excitedly.
"Not that much just hamburgers. Sorry guys, I have to work." Doug explained.
"But you always work!" Drake complained,
"That's only because between your mom and Eclipse, i don't have any money to spend on myself for once. So I agreed to work overtime." Doug said.
"But, in a month is bring your kid to work day," Evie reminded them.
"Dibs on dad!" Eclipse shouted.
"What not fair!" Drake whined,
"How about we make this a game. Points will be the game. Nicest, cleanest, smarts and everything." Doug said.
"That's a fab idea dad!" Eclipse said.
"50 points to Eclipse." Doug said.
" So not fair!"
"-50 to drake," Doug laughed.
"Good call dad! You're the best!" Eclipse said.
"100 to eclipse." Doug was having so much fun with this. "Who wants to keep score?"
"Memememe!" Drake yelled.
"Go ahead drake, 100 points."
"What's so bad about your mom's job?" Kayla whispered to Eclipse.
"Nothing, she just does hair and nails." She explained.
"What's so bad about that? I thought you love that type of stuff?"
"I do. It's just dad is a scientist! Way cooler!" Eclipse whispered. "My mom quit because she worked with my dad. They nearly bombed the house and school. Even when they were college they had to make sure they had a devie proofed room,"
"Devie?" Kayla asked,
"Doug and evie." Drake said.
"Oh. But that's a person who rides whales." Kayla explained.
"Better than dovie." Eclipse Said.
"Yeah I guess."
"Kayla, your dad just emailed me and your staying with us for a week. She's bringing over your stuff in a little bit." Evie said
"Why do you hate me?!" Drake asked
"Mal and Ben needed our help and it's not too bad," Doug explained.
"It's like when me and Audrey had a sleepover." Evie said.
"What were you thinking?!" Doug asked
"Dad, you thinking what I'm thinking?" Drake asked.
"a week at auradons waterpark Capital that we always wanted to go to?" Doug asked.
"See ya in five minutes!" Drake ran up to his room to pack,
"Douglas!" Evie shouted. "I can't cook! And plus who's gonna watch them when I have work?"
"Honey, they're 16. They can handle themselves," Doug explained
"Eclipse doesn't know how to cook, and either does Kayla."
"just give me five minutes and everything will be fine."
