I was walking down the lonely road that led to nothing. The world has been destroyed for awhile now, I lost one of my best friend. Carl. He's been my friend since the beginning of the first grade. Now I have a new person with me, he says his name's Doctor, but I don't believe it. If he was really the "Doctor" then why couldn't he stop this from happening?

"So, "Clara". Are your group mates still alive and you're getting supplies, or they are all dead and you survived?" I was hoping I wasn't being too personal. I put my arm over her shoulder, trying to help her remember that things will be okay soon.

I looked at the man and sighed, "I don't know if they are alive. All I know is that it's my goal to find my best friend again."

I sadly smiled, "They're right. The people. Your best friends and family are probably gone. I'm going to give up."

"If you say you're going on a mission to find your friend, why are you quitting on them. You see, we're all stories in the end. There are too many in this world that have had their stories cut short. We need to make those stories good. Like the people who sacrificed themselves as bait just to buy them time. Thats a story that would be good enough for everyone to read. As for giving up, nobody would read that story. If it'll help, I will help you find your friend."

I looked at the Doctor. I think he just gave me advice. It was good advice, maybe I shouldn't give up on my friend. If it was the other way around, Carl wouldn't give up on me. "Would you really?"

"Of course." I replied. " I will keep you safe for as long as I can. Would you like to come into a shelter I know?" I asked, gesturing to the tall blue box.

I looked at the blue box in disbelief, "You want me to get in a police box?"
I was right. The man is a lunatic, I'm surviving the zombie apocalypse with a lunatic. Carl you better be near by because I'll probably die before I see you turn sixteen.

"I know that you are a fair bit skeptical, you know, being with a mad man. But you should trust me. I wouldn't lie to you" I was being very sincere in hopes that she would trust me. I didn't want her dying, somewhat alone. The thought of it made my lower spine shiver. "Please..."

I thought about it long and hard, "Fine. But if I die I'm having Carl come and get you."
I laughed and walked up to the police box, waiting at the door.
"Well are you going to unlock it?"

"Oh right. Sorry, just a vision." I unlocked the tardis and let Clara in first. "There's some water in that compartment over there. You look a bit dehydrated." I twisted open the cap and took small sips, preserving the water although there was an abundance. I  breathed a sigh of relief as I just acknowledged that she trusts me. I smiled a little.

This place is humongous! I guess you can't judge a place by what's on the outside, but what's on the inside. I wanted to explore, but I fought the urge to. I really wanted to explore, but I know that's a bad idea in times like this.

I handed Clara a bottle of water. "Feel free to explore a little if you'd like. I don't ever really let people do this but I'd let some survivalists like us do this. Now if you'll excuse me, I got to use the Lou real quick."

My eyes widened as I watched him leave the room to go use the loo. Did he just read my mind? If he did then that's creepy. I don't think I've ever had a creepy friend.

As I splashed my face with cool water, I heard knocking at the main door. Not a zombie, but a human. I dried my face with a towel and hurried to the front door with a pistol for good measure. I opened the door to see a boy with a sheriff's hat that suited him well. I gestured for him to come in. I searched to find Clara. "Clara?" I called. "I must show you something." I grinned.
