I'm Dying

This is my first chapter of my first "story" aka my first poem published. Please don't hate me.

I'm dying
To write the next chapter
Of my life

I'm dying
Of what you told me
About chemistry class

I'm dying
Of my love for
My only love I've ever had

I'm dying
Of fatherly love
For my children

I'm dying
For I can't breathe
Through these ruined lungs

I'm dying
Lying in this hospital bed
Unable to take care of myself

I'm dying
Of the fact that I can't walk
My daughters down the aisle

I'm dying
Of the poison pumped into me
That is meant to save me
