Chapter 6:
We got out the car and walked over to our mothers. They were talking and giggling on two benches that faced each other, before they made eye sight with us. They both got up and greeted us with a hug. As we sat down, Jason took my hand, holding it on his lap. My mom smiled. “So, I see you’re beginning to remember things.” I smiled shyly. “So, lets get down to business.” Lanaye began. Business?
“Anna, you need to tell me everything that you remember as a child.” she said. I raised my eyebrow. Truth is, I didn’t know too much. “All I remember was Jason. How as kids, we were the best of friends, and how you imprinted on us. I don’t quite know nor do I remember the process, but I know the imprinted was complete before I was adopted.” I said. The word ‘adopted’ seemed to hurt my mom in a way. I felt bad as I looked away. A question popped in my head and before I could stop myself, the question slipped out.
“Why was I anyways?” I asked.
My mom looked at me, confused.
“Why were you what, darling?” she asked.
I looked down. I shouldn’t of thought out loud.
“Don’t be afraid to ask, dear. You deserve every answer you need.” she added.
I looked at Jason who tightened his hand for comfort.
“Why was I put up for… You know…?” I asked. My mom looked at Lanaye then sighed as she looked back at me. “When you and Jason were both born, Lanaye and I both were mortal but knew about the vampire population. The plan was after you both were born, we were going to be changed. The process worked for Lanaye, but I became very ill. I was forced to change while I was pregnant with you, or you would die and I would die. I thought that it was going to make you a full vampire, but turns out, you were born as a healthy mixed baby. After a few year, probably when you were about three, a very bad man wanted it to be his baby, because wanted me. But I wanted your father. The man’s name was Trevor. Trevor Tyson. Trevor told me that if he couldn’t have what he wanted and loved the most, then I couldn’t have and want what I wanted the most. That was you and your father. He tried to kill your father, but he was too strong. He decided to let me keep him, but you, I couldn’t have. When I found out he was going to try and kill you, I wanted nothing but safety for you. So giving you to the James family was the best option. I wanted you to live a normal life. I never thought Trevor would continue to find you as you got older. He’s not going to stop until your dead.” she said.
“She’s right.” a voice said. We turned our attention to a tall pale man, with blonde hair and red eyes. The eyes read ‘thirst’. Instantly, Lanaye, Jason, and my mom stood in front of me, Jason still holding my hand.
“What are you doing here?” my mom said.
“Oh come on, Brenee. Don’t act like you didn’t miss me.” he smirked. “Trevor, you need to leave.” she said. Trevor laughed. “Now why would I do that? I haven’t even got the chance to see my girl.” he said. I stood up. Trevor held out his hands. “Anna! Look at you! You look just like your mother!” he said. I looked him in disgust. “What do you want with me?” I asked walking next to Jason. Jason’s hand tensed. I looked up at him then back to Trevor. “Well, you of course!” he said walking towards me. Jason moved in front of me. “Back away, Trevor.” he said. Trevor smiled. “Wow, Jason. You’ve grown up so much as well!” he said. “Trevor, you just need to leave. No body needs nor wants you here.” he said. Trevor smiled. Before I could blink, Trevor had me in his grip and a good space away from my family. Jason started towards me, anger and worry written on his face. My mom and Lanaye held him back. “Don’t you dare hurt her!” he yelled. Trevor had a strong grip on my wrist. He laughed. “Not yet, princess.” he smiled and smelt my hair. My scent made him hungry. “I will see you all soon.” he said as he started running off. Jason tried running as fast as Trevor, but Trevor was too fast and Jason lost him. I screamed for help as we approached a huge mansion. It nice but I wasn’t wanting to go in it. Trevor cuffed his hand over my mouth. “Anna, shut up! No one can hear you over here.”
I tried fighting him off but no. He was too strong. “Fighting isn’t going to help.” he said dragging me behind him. We walked to the back of the mansion, to a medium size looking shed thing. Once he opened it, he walked inside and took stairs to a bigger room. I had three cells; walls and floor blood red. Trevor threw me in one of the cells.
I grunted as I hit the floor. I stood up and ran to the cell bars. “You bastard! Let me out!” I yelled. Trevor smiled. “No can do angel. I have to finish where I left off.”
I shook my head. “Why do you have to do this?! My mother had no choice! She was already imprinted to my father!” I yelled.
Trevor came over to me, and put his face close to mine. “When you imprint, you are forever, that doesn’t mean you have to actually be together forever. I wanted your mother but she didn’t want me.” he said.
“I understand why. You’re dirt.” I said. Trevor backed away. “So I’ve been told. I’ll see you tomorrow, sweet pea.” he said walking out. I banged on the bars, screaming. I didn’t want this. I just wanted to go home to Jason and my mom. It was too soon to leave her again.
