This War Of Mine

Chapter 1

First I came here in a plane and this all happened. A war sparked, I never thought that the Bosnian War would rage all the way to Sarajevo. I had to stay one night in this so called, "Safe zone." "Alright everyone! The evac is coming!" A soldier said. I see a helicopter start to land and as it did they put me on first. After me came a family, a mom and 3 kids. We started to leave a rocket hit the back of the helicopter. The helicopter was split in half and before it hit the ground I flung out...

After 5 hours I wake up hear gunshots and explosives go off. I turn around to see the family burning... their skin peeling off slowly and their muscle starting to pop. In the distance, I hear people screaming and children crying. I stare at the family and see the 3 children lying there, I turn around and see a man. "Come on!" He picks me up and starts saying, "I'm gonna help you don't worry!"

I feel blood dripping off my body... I felt sick and started throwing up and then fell. My eyes grew heavy as I saw a tank in the distance. BOOM! The sound from the tank shot went. I pass out... I slowly wake up in a bed bandaged up and see a huge blood trail. I slowly stand up and start to limp to the door. "That must be my blood." The gunshots and the tanks could still easily be heard and then I saw a helicopter fly by the building. "You finally woke up!" A man said starting to stand up. "Who the hell are you?" I ask. 

"My name's Zelig." The man said. "Okay Zelig, why did you bring me here?" "It's safe" he replied. "I can't believe it... you thought you could make it out," Zelig said. I walk towards him and pull out my pocket knife and threaten him. "How long have I been out?" I ask. "About 3-4 hours," He replies calmly. Out of nowhere a helicopter sounded like it was getting closer and closer. I look out the window seeing a helicopter was shot down.

"We gotta get ou-" I was cut out because the helicopter crashed into the building and launched me. I hit my head and was knocked out...
