This was my first ever story I wrote!
The girl next door
One dark and stormy night, Amelia Hope came back from the city centre in York. She was 12 years old and she had a wonderful family. She was living with her Mother, her sister and her Dad. Amelia was always spooked about next door. It was a rusty building and the windows had been broken. Glass was everywhere from the burglary in 2005.
Amelia was ready to play with her friends in the back yard but before she did, she asked her Mum if anyone died in the house next door. 'Not now Amelia' replied her Mother. Amelia sighed and ran off. Her Mother wished to tell her that a little girl died in that house but she just couldn't in-case she got scared. 'I'll tell her on her birthday' Her mother told Nathan, Amelia's Dad.
She went back inside her house and then picked up her cat, Alfie. 'I love you boy' Amelia whispered to him. Her Mum came bursting through Amelia's bedroom door. 'IT IS YOUR BITHDAY TOMORROW!' Shouted her Mum.
'I know Mum calm down!' Answered Amelia with a laugh. Alfie jumped onto Amelia's bed and fell asleep next to her.'Such a cute cat you have Amelia, your so lucky' commented Alyssa, Amelia's Mum , as she walked out of the room.
Amelia woke up excitedly on her 13th birthday. She spun Alfie in her arms before carrying him downstairs. Her parents and her sister was already downstairs. 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY!' they shouted in sync. Her sister gave Amelia her present and said 'I now respect my elders'. They both giggled and Amelia said thank you. Next was her parents. They gave her the gift and her Mum told her to meet her in the kitchen after lunch. Amelia opened her birthday presents and had her lunch. She went to the kitchen to meet her Mum and then she was told about the girl next door.
'Why didn't you tell me?!' She cried. Her mother didn't reply but just cried as she was very upset. Amelia ran upstairs to her room and looked out of her window. There was a girl standing watching her. 'AHHHHHH!' She screamed. No one came. She ran downstairs and told her mother what she saw. 'Are you insane Amelia – Destiny – Hope? There is no such thing as ghosts!' Cried her mother. Amelia dragged her mother upstairs and her Mum saw the girl. 'You silly girl, that is the real girl who died.' Explained her mother.
'But didn't she die?' Asked Amelia cautiously.
'No but she almost died during the burglary in 2005' Answered her Mum.
'Ohhhhhh' Replied Amelia with attitude.
The next day Amelia ran downstairs and went outside. She ran up to the girl but the girl backed away slowly, thinking Amelia was going to hurt her. 'Don't worry. I am Amelia – Destiny – Hope. I am from York. I have heard you got hurt during the Yorkshire Burglary in 2005. I am so glad you are okay now. My Mother told me a lot about you. Only she didn't tell me your name.' Amelia said carefully
'I'm called Suzy. Is your mother Alyssa Hope? I have heard all about her. My mother was her best friend before she died in the burglary.'
'I am sorry to hear that' Amelia replied. They both organised a game for any age and then they got everyone on the street to play. Suzy was homeless so Alyssa adopted her and the whole family welcomed her in with a surprise party.
The following day, Suzy , Amelia, Alyssa , Nathan and Hannah ( Amelia and Suzy's sister ) went shopping for new furniture for everyone and they went looking for a new house. They all packed and Suzy helped Amelia pack.. The house they bought was a wonderful mansion. It had five floors and they could all have their own floor! Amelia and Suzy however decided to share a room and a floor in-case any trouble happened, Like the mansion was haunted.
All of the family had a splendid time together and three years later they all had to say goodbye to Suzy and Amelia, who then got their own place together. Amelia and Suzy didn't want to split up after what happened during the past. Amelia was the first ever person to speak properly to Suzy and that was really special for both of them.
