I dabbed on the last of my mascara as the door bell rang. "I'll get it!" I yelled to my mom, as I ran down the stairs. I knew if mom beat me to the door, we'd never leave. I stopped at the mirror next to the door and gazed one last time at my reflection. 'Perfect.' I smiled, and opened the door.

"Hey Adam!" I called to the tall young man standing in front of me. Adam was wearing a fancy tuxedo and holding flowers. (Your favorite kind.) I smiled again, "My favorite!" He smiled shyly before handing them to me. "You look pretty, (Y/N)," I couldn't stop grinning! It was so exciting to be with him!

We walked to the car, Adam stopping to open up the passenger's side. "Have I told you that your new car is awesome, Adam! It's really fancy!" "Thanks, my dad's letting me have it since I didn't wreck the last one for a whole year." I laughed, remembering how he'd wrecked the last one, just after the year mark. "Remember how you wrecked it trying not to hit the balloon?" "Look, I saw a balloon, it was nice, and I didn't want to pop it. So what if I accidentally hit another car in the process. At least the balloon was ok," Adam said in a very serious tone. "Didn't you end up destroying the mailbox too though? And I thought the balloon floated up after you untied the knot with your bumper?" "Yeah," he replied, running his hand through his hair, "that was pretty expensive. But at least I freed the balloon." I laughed again. The rest of the drive was silent, as we listened to Chyna Anne McClain's Calling all the Monsters.

When we got to Mission Creek High, he suddenly stopped the car. I looked over at Adam, surprised. Adam sat there breathing a little heavily. "Are you ok?" I asked, concern filling my voice. "I... have to tell you something. Come on," he said, parking the car and going down the alley by the school. I was surprised at first, but Adam did tend to be spontaneous, so I shrugged it off.

Adam stood at the other end of the darkened alley, leaning against the school wall. "What's wrong?" I said, concerned, and for a minute slightly dreading it was terrible news. "I have to tell you something." "You said that." "Well, it isn't easy to say." Dread filled my entire being as I waited for him to speak again.

He rushed into it suddenly, "I've got bionics." "What?" "I've got bionics." "I know, I heard you, but what do you mean?" "Well, I have these special abilities that my dad gave me." "Wait, are you saying you're some kind of robot?" "NO!" he huffed turning away, anger flaring his voice.

Suddenly, his eyes turned red, and I screamed pushing myself away from him. A beam of red light flew through the air from my boyfriend's eyes, hitting the dumpster in a smoky form. I started shaking uncontrollably, fear coursing through my being. Adam's eyes turned back to their former color, and he seemed to just notice me. "(Y/N)!! Are you ok? I didn't hurt you did I? I would never hurt you!"

"No, I was just surprised is all." "I'm not a robot. I am a human being like you, I just have special powers." "What other powers do you have?" "Super strength, some others. I have this force thingy that knocks everything down when I hit the ground. Will you still date me?" he asked, sitting down next to me, taking my hand in his.

"Of course I will. I think it's kind of cool. A little sudden and surprising, but way cool." He smiled and leaned in and kissed me, before pulling me up to my feet. We walked into the high school ready for the dance. Now hopefully no one would notice the dumpster! :)

Hope you like it! :) :) :)
